Food to Children and Adolescents, three food categories – breakfast cereal, restaurant foods, and snack foods – represented approximately 70% of food marketing expenditures directed to children under 12. Similarly, three categories of foods – carbonated beverages, 14 restaurant foods, and non-carbonated beverages – represented 69% of the food marketing expenditures for adolescents ages 12-17 years.
