The atmosphere is a mixture of several gases surrounding the earth's crust and has a layer
that protects and preserves the lives of human beings and keeping the materials in good
condition and functionality. Once damaged, by pollutants emitted from anthropogenic
and natural sources, the atmosphere reduces the levels of protection due to formation of
the ozone layer. The presence of contaminants in indoors and outdoors influenced by
climatic factors, has a negative effect on human health and the durability of materials.
Indoor air quality is a reflection of the outside air....
CCNP CIT Exam Certification Guide, Second Edition is a complete study tool for the CCNP CIT
exam, allowing you to assess your knowledge, identify areas to concentrate your study, and master
key concepts to help you succeed on the exam and in your daily job. The book is filled with features

network environment. This book was developed in cooperation with the Cisco Internet Learning
The generation of wastes as a result of human activities has been continuously speeding up since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Hence, both optimized waste water treatment technologies and modern tools to assess the effects of pollution sources are necessary to prevent the contamination of aquatic ecosystems The book offers an interdisciplinary collection of topics concerning waste water treatment technologies, water quality monitoring and evaluation of waste water impact on natural environments.
A Tester’s Guide to .NET Programming focuses solely on applied programming techniques for testers. You will learn how to write simple automated tests, enabling you to test tools and utilities. You will also learn about the important concepts driving modern programming today, like multitier applications and object-oriented programming. More businesses are adopting .NET technologies, and this book will equip you to assess software robustness and performance. Whether you’re an experienced programmer who’s unfamiliar with testing concepts, or you’re an experienced tester versed in VB .
In recent years, completion of the sequencing of the human genome as well as the
genomes of dozens of other organisms and subsequent development of tools for comprehensive
analysis of other cellular constituents have revolutionized biology. These new
technologies, referred to broadly as “genomics,” have integrated biologic sciences with
information sciences and engineering.
the main lesson to draw from this broad range of strategies is the importance of community
engagement and the key leadership role that women living with Hiv have to play in tailoring the
Hiv response to their needs.
Focusing on network security, this text provides a systematic and practical approach to assessing threats to the network and implementing workable and effective security measures to avert them. Coverage ranges from physical network security to data theft and viruses. The CD-ROM includes evaluation and demonstration of commercial firewalls, intrusion detection software, a variety of hacker tools for testing your own network and much more.
Some experts see the only solution in a global deflation of the currently unsustainable
exploitation of resources. However, sustainable development offers an approach that
would be practical to fuse with the managerial strategies and assessment tools for
policy and decision makers at the regional planning level.
The degree of the increase of process industries is increasing
drastically, this improvement has changed man’s way of life remarkably, however the
advantages derived have not being without a price which is basically the effect of pollution
on the environment (Carvalho et al., 2005; Baroutian, 2006). Pollutants are emitted into the
atmosphere as either gases or particles, and are eventually removed by natural self cleansing
processes (Ajayi, 1999; Alameddine and El-Fadel, 2005).
Reading proficiency is a fundamental component of language competency. However, finding topical texts at an appropriate reading level for foreign and second language learners is a challenge for teachers. This task can be addressed with natural language processing technology to assess reading level. Existing measures of reading level are not well suited to this task, but previous work and our own pilot experiments have shown the benefit of using statistical language models.
The dissemination of micro-electronics during the 1980s led to innovation. On the leading
edge of these technologies was the machine tool subsector. However, the Japanese were
the first to apply advanced controls and gained shares in global markets propelled by their
lead. Since then Europe has caught up and ME competes at eye level with Japan.
detailed assessment of the technological position in this area and other fields of relevance
for ME, such as nanotechnology, optics, new materials and composites, is performed in
The Assessments Division of the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Resources, Warfare Requirements, and Assessment (OPNAV/N81) sponsored this portion of the research. The research should be of interest to OSD and Navy policymakers, planners, and analysts concerned with shipbuilding resource requirements and industrial base. This research was conducted for the U.S. Navy within the Acquisition and Technology Policy Center of RAND’s National Defense Research Institute,
The authors use their decades of experience and draw upon real-world examples to demonstrate that the application of their techniques provides a basis for equipment management, uptime maximization, and reduced maintenance costs. The text explores reliability assessment techniques such as Failure Mode, Effect Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis of commonly encountered rotating machinery. These are all highly effective techniques that the engineer can apply to maximize uptime and thereby maximize production and profitability.
E-Learning is a vast and complex research topic that poses many challenges in every aspect: educational and pedagogical strategies and techniques and the tools for achieving them; usability, accessibility and user interface design; knowledge sharing and collaborative environments; technologies, architectures, and protocols; user activity monitoring, assessment and evaluation; experiences, case studies and more. This book’s authors come from all over the world; their ideas, studies, findings and experiences are a valuable contribution to enriching our knowledge in the field of eLearning. ...
Sound emission studies have been launched in the early 1950s. The technology

I’m very pleased to introduce the Environment Agency’s first national assessment of flood risk for England.
This is a major piece of work that brings together our latest scientific and engineering knowledge to describe
clearly the risks of flooding from rivers and the sea. It underpins our future plans for investment in flood risk
management as well as helping us to work together with our partners to protect the public and property from
floods more effectively.
The events of the summer of 2007 demonstrated the major impacts floods can have.
Through a number of technological advancements, IC3 has streamlined the way it processes
and refers victim complaints to law enforcement. In 2004, IC3 developed Automatch, an
automated internal complaint grouping and analytical search tool. The design of Automatch
is based on an assessment of the IC3 partnership aimed at defining a joint workflow for the
project partners with different service requirements.
The industry approach to environmental issues has
moved from ‘end-of-pipe’ solutions, towards a pollu-
tion prevention strategy. This strategy requires an
integrated, holistic view of activities. Tools have been
developed to assist management, including cleaner
production, life cycle assessment and industrial ecolo-
gy. Each of these looks at the life cycle of the product
or service, to identify where the major environmental
issues or problems may arise and where the most cost-
effective solutions can be developed.

The most established nationwide medical registry in Germany is the Perinatal Registry, which collects
maternal health records concerning pregnancy, delivery and perinatal outcome from now more than
1100 hospitals. Over the past 16 years, data collection was transformed from printed questionnaires to
digital records. A special web-based information source of the German Perinatal Registry does not
