progression is episodic in nature on a tooth site level, but more recently, it has been realized
that it is principally patient-based rather than site-based (Zia et al., 2011); the host related
risk factors could be the key to better understand disease evolution. The available evidence
shows that important risk factors for periodontal disease relate to poor oral hygiene, tobacco
use, excessive alcohol consumption, stress, and diabetes mellitus (Laurina et al., 2009; Taylor
& Borgnakke, 2008).
The other routing protocols have been proposed in WSN
to improve QoS other restrictions such as the delay.
The problem here is that the complexity of the routing protocol significantly increased with
integration of more than one QoS parameter. Indeed, define a QoS route meets
two or more countries not limited correlation (eg, delay, and bandwidth) is an NP-
complete problem (Mellouk et al, 2007), because many limitations optimal path
problem can not be solved in polynomial time.
Noteworthy is that different publication mediums are valued differently within the
scientific community. Also, universities are ranked based on the number and level of
publications. Journal articles are commonly recognised above conference papers, even if
many of the conference publications use peer review practices. It is recommended that a
researcher, even at early stages, should start the learning process of writing for journals.
Once experience is gained, one should raise his ambition level step-by-step and aim
towards publishing in increasingly better journals.
This book explores four overlapping themes in biogeography among multiple plant
and animal groups, across subcontinental to global spatial scales, and over
evolutionary time. These four themes include: 1) biogeographic theory and tests of
concepts and processes; 2) the regional biogeography of individual taxa; 3) historical
and contemporary biogeography of complex landscapes; and 4) the evolutionary
biogeography of macrotaxa.
In the first chapter of the conceptual biogeography section, Khalid Al Mutairi et al.
Regions and gates can be made to better separate and analyze populations of interest.
Furthermore, on the basis that the dyes used to stain cells have overlapping emission
spectra, the compensation is normally made to reduce interference.
While basic instruments may only permit the simultaneous collection of two or three
fluorescence signals, the more complex and expensive research instruments mean that it is
possible to obtain more than 14 parameters (Winson & Davey, 2000; Chattopadhyay et al.,
2008) depending on the laser equipment utilized.
The goal is one of the
on humanoid robot will be able to both understand human intelligence and reason and act
like humans. If the humanoids can do so, eventually they can co-exist and work
next to humans and can act as proxies for people to do dangerous work, but dirty
will not be done by humans if there is a choice, thus providing people with more
safety, freedom and time.
Finally, the last part of the questionnaire aimed to acquire information on the most innovative
examples of financing mechanisms used in the EU countries. The goal for this was to provide
innovative examples of financing mechanisms, which would be used for detailed analysis and
material for a multi-criteria analysis (MCA) of alternative financing mechanisms. In total, 35 cases of
financing mechanisms were reported from 13 countries.
We pay the reasonable cost of towing your car to the nearest repairer or place
of safety if it is damaged and cannot be safely driven. The amount we will pay
under this benefit will depend on where the accident takes place and what
transport options are available.
The Just Car Lifetime Repair Guarantee
The quality of the workmanship and the materials we authorise in the repair of
your car will be guaranteed for the life of the car. See pages 14 for details.
We cover your replacement car
If you replace your car with another car, we will insure the replacement car from...
A well-functioning PFM framework includes an effective accounting and financial re-
porting system to support fiscal policy analysis and budget management. Among other
things, government business processes and decisions are anchored on the flow of specific
financial information/data between various stakeholders.
Each household member records spending for the same two diary weeks, so we
must pool observations across households to study expenditures over an entire month.
Given that distance from payday is orthogonal to household characteristics, this pooling
should not bias our estimate of the relationship between distance and spending.8
We impose a number of sample restrictions. People paid weekly are excluded,
because every diary week includes a payday for these individuals.
The different criteria defined in the document do not consider the technology deployed in the
projector. One has to remain free to use any technology as long as it meets the requirements as
stated in the ISO standard.
Historically, the recommendations and standards were fixed to a certain number of criteria aimed at
defining the quality of digital projection as the minimum equivalent to the one in...
WWF has long recognised the importance
of the European Union’s regional, agriculture
and rural development as well as
other funds for the environment. With over
€ 80 billion expenditure each year spread
across the 25 European Union member
states, the funds have an enormous potential
to cause environmental damage. WWF
national organisations working closely with
other environmental NGOs have had to be
constantly vigilant over the past 15 years to
see that the funds are spent wisely.
Firms obviously choose to insure risk-averse workers when the premium is fair. They may choose to
do so even if the premium is slightly higher than the expected cost. Nevertheless, if a firm’s expected
health cost is significantly lower than the premium, it may choose not to offer insurance to workers. As
we have just observed, small firms have higher variances in health costs. Hence, relative to large firms,
more small firms will have expected costs that are significantly below the offered premium, and they
choose not to offer insurance to workers.
For example, Sulandjari and Rupidara (2003, cited in Posthuma 2003) found 1 026 enterprises in
2000, which is nine times less than what we found (at least 9 000 enterprises in 2000). Similarly,
Sandee et al. (2002, cited in Posthuma 2003) found 3 000 enterprises in 2002, four times less than
what we found (at least 12 000 enterprises in 2002). Finally the Indonesian administration (District
Office of Industry 2005, cited in Loebis and Schmitz 2005), found 3 700 enterprises in 2002, that is
to say three times less than what we found.
The global pattern of the spatial distribution can...
In argentina many pregnant women do not visit health centres
until late in their pregnancy. There is no gender-specific HIV strategy
within the government’s HIV prevention program, and most cases of
HIV infection among infants stem from the lack of antenatal care and
insufficient information and counselling provided to women on HIV/
AIDS and sexual and reproductive rights. Health care access varies
widely across the country, and stigma and discrimination from health
care workers impedes service utilization.
From our earlier analysis, increasing controlling owners’ equity ownership
beyond the minimum level needed for effective control creates incentive alignment
effects that curtail entrenchment effects, which in turn increase earnings informativeness.
On the other hand, the information argument suggests a negative relation between
ownership concentration and earnings informativeness. As the incentive alignment and
the information effects could coexist, the relation between ownership concentration and
earnings informativeness is ambiguous and needs to be addressed empirically....
These are payments made by an employer to a contractor which are not
authorized by the contract. They are occasionally paid when a contractor has
performed very much to the satisfaction of the employer but has shouldered
some extra cost clearly not attributable to his own actions, such as exception-
ally bad weather or some other misfortune outside his control. Only the
employer can decide to make an ex-contractual payment, not the engineer or
other person acting on his behalf; and the employer must himself have power
to make the payment.
The olive is one of the most ancient cultivated fruit trees. Olive cultivation has a very long
history which started from the Third Millennium BC (Loukas & Krimbas, 1983) in the
Eastern region of the Mediterranean sea and spread later around the basin following land
and maritime routes to Italy, Spain, North Africa and France. Nowadays there are about 805
million of olive trees, 98% of which are grown in the Mediterranean countries (Tsitsipis et
al., 2009). The foremost consuming countries are also the main olive oil producers.
Steel mills that recycle scrap metal face a similar
incidental emissions problem. North American
automobile manufacturers have used hundreds of
thousands of kilograms of mercury in vehicle
switches and other applications, such as headlights.
Much of this mercury enters the atmosphere when
the scrapped cars are melted down to make new
steel, while some of it contaminates the ground in
the yards where the cars are crushed or shredded.
Nearly all of the mercury found in cars enters the
