The current control problems present natural trend of increasing its complexity due to
performance criteria that is becoming more sophisticated. The necessity of practicers
and engineers in dealing with complex dynamic systems has motivated the design of
controllers, whose structures are based on multiobjective constraints, knowledge from
expert, uncertainties, nonlinearities, parameters that vary with time, time delay
conditions, multivariable systems, and others.
The areas of adaptive filtering and change (fault) detection are quite active
fields. both in research and applications . Some central keywords of the book

Nowadays, Information and Communication Systems Technologies are rapidly

The main reason for conducting business is creating and maintaining value

Adaptive filtering can be used to characterize unknown systems in time-variant environments. The main objective of this approach is to meet a difficult comprise: maximum convergence speed with maximum accuracy. Each application requires a certain approach which determines the filter structure, the cost function to minimize the estimation error, the adaptive algorithm, and other parameters; and each selection involves certain cost in computational terms, that in any case should consume less time than the time required by the application working in real-time....
