In this paper, we encode topic dependencies in hierarchical multi-label Text Categorization (TC) by means of rerankers. We represent reranking hypotheses with several innovative kernels considering both the structure of the hierarchy and the probability of nodes. Additionally, to better investigate the role of category relationships, we consider two interesting cases: (i) traditional schemes in which node-fathers include all the documents of their child-categories; and (ii) more general schemes, in which children can include documents not belonging to their fathers. ...
(BQ) In this new edition, the authors have included additional sections to make for a more comprehensive coverage of topics; more exercise and revision questions; additional/replacement examples/figures to complement the modified text. As in previous editions, the treatment is straightforward to allow rapid progress in grasping the techniques, with sufficient exercises for practice.
(BQ) This sixth edition of Additional maths:Pure and applied, has been completely revised and updated. it covers the Cambridge additional mathematics syllabus in the pure mathematics and particle mechanics sections. The topics have been taken largely in the order of the syllabus for convenience, but this could be altered if desired.
The new edition of Focus on IELTS not only prepares students for IELTS but also equips them with the tools they need to succeed in academic life.
Additional exam practice is available with the interactive iTests on this CD-ROM. The first complete and integrated IELTS preparation course, providing comprehensive exam skills development and graded practice. The Coursebook contains 20 short units organised into thematically linked pairs. The first unit in each pair focuses on reading and vocabulary, the second unit focuses on listening and writing skills.
This worktext series focuses in on practical vocabulary terms, skills, and concepts in relevant situational settings. Struggling students learn over 3,000 high-utility words in 28 self-contained thematic lessons. Additionally, each lesson activates prior knowledge and continually reinforces fundamental language arts skills and concepts.
A Mathematical Introduction with OpenGL
This book is an introduction to 3-D computer graphics with particular emphasis on fundamentals and the mathematics underlying computer graphics. It includes descriptions of how to use the cross-platform OpenGL programming environment. It also includes source code for a ray tracing software package. (Accompanying software is available freely from the book’s Web site.
This second edition of Data Structures and Algorithms in Java has been augmented to
make it easier for the reader and for instructors using it as a text in computer science
classes. Besides coverage of additional topics, we’ve added end-of-chapter questions,
experiments, and programming projects.
Ebook Math skill buiders Grade 2 is packed with fun, skill-boosting reproducibles that cover the topics you teach: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time, money, fractions, and much more. Created by a teach who knows what kids like and how they learn best, these puzzles and activities are sure to engage even the most reluctant math learners!
This introduction to nuclear physics provides an excellent basis for a core undergraduate course in this area. The authors show how simple models can provide an understanding of the properties of nuclei, both in their ground and excited states, and of the nature of nuclear reactions. They include chapters on nuclear fission, its application in nuclear power reactors, the role of nuclear physics in energy production and nucleosynthesis in stars.
Sulfur is the element with the largest number of solid allotropes. Most of these consist
of unbranched cyclic molecules with ring sizes ranging from 6 to 20. In addition, polymeric
allotropes are known which are believed to consist of chains in a random coil or helical
conformation. Furthermore, several high-pressure allotropes have been characterized.
In this chapter the preparation, crystal structures, physical properties and analysis of these
allotropes are discussed.

Speech acts as minimal unit of discourse analysis have been the focus of a large body of research as they do not only represent language form but also reflect cultural values of the people who perform them. Like most other speech acts, the realization of the speech act of criticizing is influenced by a number of social and situational factors, the perception of which might vary greatly across cultures. In addition, cultures may also differ in their common topics and frequency of criticism their people make in everyday life. ...

One feature of this
model is that strokes develop spontaneously following severe hypertension (more than 150
mmHg). Therefore, in SHRSP, because strokes develop after the onset of elevated blood
pressure, elevated blood pressure is considered to be the most critical factor for stroke
induction. However, interestingly, the neuronal cells of this model exhibit a great
vulnerability compared with normal control WKY/Izm rats during the reoxygenation
conditions following hypoxia (Tagami et al., 1998; Yamagata et al., 2010c).
In the Biomedical Applications of Biophysics, Volume 3 of the Handbook of Modern Biophysics,
the authors have added to the topics introduced in Volume 1, Fundamental Concepts in Biophysics.
These additional topics help trace the broad field of biophysics.
Patrice Koehl starts the book with an introduction to protein structure prediction based on
energetics, homology modeling, and ab-initio calculations. Dickey and Faller follow with a
“how-to approach” to model biomembranes.
