Multi-agent systems have been brought up and used in several application domains.
Modified release coatings
John E.Hogan SUMMARY Relevant aspects of the composition and performance of modified release coatings are considered in this chapter. Initially, the basic characteristics of multiparticulate systems are described and comparisons are made with the performance of whole tablets intended for modified release. The properties and effects of the polymers and plasticizers which are used in modified release coatings are illustrated with examples from the literature. This further develops the basic treatment of these materials provided in Chapter 2.
Multi agent systems involve a team of agents working together socially to accomplish a task. An agent can be social in many ways. One is when an agent helps others in solving complex problems. The field of multi agent systems investigates the process underlying distributed problem solving and designs some protocols and mechanisms involved in this process.
Over the past decade, there has been a strong revival of interest in agent-based
technology, with a recognition that it impacts many areas such as artificial intelligence,
distributed computing, and software engineering. Agent-based technology can be
used to solve a variety of business and technology problems. Examples of such
applications include electronic commerce, grid computing, social networks, and
adaptive virtual environment.
In response to the enactment by the U.S. Congress of the Intermodal
Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA), the Federal Highway
Administration (FHWA) requested that the National Research Council (NRC)
conduct a study on nonconventional concrete technology for renewal of the
highway infrastructure. ISTEA directed the FHWA to initiate a comprehensive,
long-range infrastructure research and development (R&D) program.
Technological innovations are key causal agents of surprise and disruption. These innovations, and the disruption

This paper describes a self-learning software agent who collects and learns knowledge from the web and also exchanges her knowledge via dialogues with the users. The agent is built on top of information extraction, web mining, question answering and dialogue system technologies, and users can freely formulate their questions within the gossip domain and obtain the answers in multiple ways: textual response, graph-based visualization of the related concepts and speech output.
Several other mail transfer agents are available to replace sendmail. Two popular aternatives are Qmail
(www.qmail.org) by David Bernstein, and Postfix (www.postfix.org) by Wietse Venema. Both of these MTAs
were designed and written from the ground up with security and performance in mind. It is beyond the scope
of this guide to give details on installing and configuring either of these alternatives, but a wealth of information

With SMS, several modes are possible for addressing message recipients. The most common

The Rectisol process uses methanol as wash solvent. The
methanol has many benefits, is globally available and is a low-cost washing
agent. Furthermore, methanol is chemically and thermally stable and
will not change its behavior and structure over a long service life.
The Rectisol wash unit operates at temperatures below 0°C. To lower
the feed gas temperatures, it is cooled against cold-product streams
before entering the absorber tower. At the absorber tower, CO2 and
H2S/COS are removed.
