This book will interest researchers, scientists, engineers and graduate students in many disciplines, who make use of mathematical modeling and computer simulation. Although it represents only a small sample of the research activity on numerical simulations, the book will certainly serve as a valuable tool for researchers interested in getting involved in this multidisciplinary field. It will be useful to encourage further experimental and theoretical researches in the above mentioned areas of numerical simulation...
Transition-based dependency parsers are often forced to make attachment decisions at a point when only partial information about the relevant graph configuration is available. In this paper, we describe a model that takes into account complete structures as they become available to rescore the elements of a beam, combining the advantages of transition-based and graph-based approaches. We also propose an efficient implementation that allows for the use of sophisticated features and show that the completion model leads to a substantial increase in accuracy.

(BQ) Part 1 book "Mark’s calculations for machine design" has contents: Fundamental loadings, beams - Reactions; shear force and bending moment distributions, and deflections; advanced loadings; combined loadings; principal stresses and mohr’s circle.
(BQ) Strength of materials by Stephen Timoshenko book was expanded by the addition of two new chapters, namely Chapter VIII which deals with bending of beams in a plane which is not a plane of symmetry and Chapter XII on the bending of curved bars. In Chapter VIII the notion of shear center which is of great practical importance in the case of thin walled structures is introduced. In Chapter XII is presented the material on curved bars which previously appeared in the second volume of this book.
In this tutorial, a solid FEA model of a bent rod experiencing a combined load is created. No planes of symmetry exist and therefore simplifications cannot be made. Finally, the significance of the von Mises stress in design equation is discussed.
1 Problem Statement
The bent rod, shown to the right, is clamped at one end and subjected to a load of 2000 lb as displayed. The steel rod has a Young modulus of 30E+6 psi and Poisson ratio 0.3 . The nominal dimensions of the rod are also displayed below.
Nonlinear Amplification of Synchronous CDMA
Overview As we have described in Chapter 3, the SS/CDMA uses orthogonal CDMA for both uplink and downlink transmission. On board the satellite, each CDMA channel is routed to a destination downlink beam by the Code Division Switch (CDS). All channels in the same output port of the CDS are combined and then amplified with a Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) amplifier for downlink transmission.
Computed tomography (CT) is the mainstay of
cancer imaging outside of the central nervous
system. Advances in multidetector CT (MDCT)
technology have had a profound impact on its diagnostic
capabilities. Such techniques as multiphase, single breath-hold
imaging, CT angiography (CTA), volume rendering and
virtual colonography owe their success to the development of
multidetector arrays with continuously moving gantries.

Hybrid Multiple Access Schemes
The simultaneous transmission of multiple data streams over the same medium can be achieved with different multiplexing schemes. Most communications systems, such as GSM, DECT, IEEE 802.11a, and HIPERLAN/2, use multiplexing based on either time division, frequency division or a combination of both. Space division multiplexing is applied to further increase the user capacity of the system. The simplest scheme of space division multiplexing is antenna sectorization at the base station where often antennas with 120◦ /90◦ beams are used....
The treatment of a tumor that has invaded muscle can be separated into control of the primary tumor and, depending on the pathologic findings at surgery, systemic chemotherapy. Radical cystectomy is the standard, although in selected cases a bladder-sparing approach is used; this approach includes complete endoscopic resection; partial cystectomy; or a combination of resection, systemic chemotherapy, and external beam radiation therapy. In some countries, external beam radiation therapy is considered standard.

Freestanding HfO2 grating fabricated by fast atom beam etching
Yongjin Wang1,2*, Tong Wu2, Yoshiaki Kanamori2 and Kazuhiro Hane2
Abstract We report here the fabrication of freestanding HfO2 grating by combining fast atom beam etching (FAB) of HfO2 film with dry etching of silicon substrate. HfO2 film is deposited onto silicon substrate by electron beam evaporator.
This paper describes an incremental parsing approach where parameters are estimated using a variant of the perceptron algorithm. A beam-search algorithm is used during both training and decoding phases of the method. The perceptron approach was implemented with the same feature set as that of an existing generative model (Roark, 2001a), and experimental results show that it gives competitive performance to the generative model on parsing the Penn treebank. We demonstrate that training a perceptron model to combine with the generative model during search provides a 2.
