The present text concerns the micro-level (particle-level) perspective on the different stages of the
granulation process. A range of the newest and advanced quantitative models is presented hereby
introducing recent advances in wetting and nucleation modelling, and theory describing granule
growth behaviour. The different bonding mechanisms and the strength of liquid bonded particles
are emphasised and recent advances in simulation of wet granule breakage is reviewed.

Introduction Process Monitoring
Tool Wear Estimation • Tool Breakage Detection • Chatter Detection
Control for Process Regulation • Control for Process Optimization
Machine tool monitoring and control are essential for automated manufacturing. Monitoring is necessary for detection of a process anomaly to prevent machine damage by stopping the process, or to remove the anomaly by adjusting the process inputs (feeds and speeds).
Machine tool monitoring and control are essential for automated manufacturing. Monitoring is necessary for detection of a process anomaly to prevent machine damage by stopping the process, or to remove the anomaly by adjusting the process inputs (feeds and speeds). A process anomaly may be gradual such as tool/wheel wear, may be abrupt such as tool breakage, or preventable such as excessive vibration/chatter
In the backbone or to the desk, optical networks achieve peak performance with ADC's fiber
connectors, patch cords, raceways, and panels featuring integrated cable management and bend
Proper cable management practices make fiber networks less susceptible to accidental damage,
quicker to install, less expensive to own and operate over the long haul and easier to expand as needs
The present text introduces the use of population balances in the context of batch wet granulation
and coating systems and it reviews the latest achievements and proposals in the scientific
literature in this field. The nature and framework of population balance theory are highlighted and
one-dimensional population balances are introduced from scratch. This may seems tedious at first
but the derivation of even the simplest population balances is nevertheless not an easy task, and it
is in fact difficult to find complete derivations elsewhere in literature.
Fixed smears should be submitted in containers that protect against breakage. Slide containers are
available in a variety of shapes, volumes and material. Optimal design features include easily
opened containers which stay closed during transport, shock resistant material, and enough room to
prevent slides from adhering to one another or the container. The slides should be marked clearly
with the patient’s name, as well as other identifiers if possible. If more than one site is sampled, the
slides must be clearly marked as to their site.
