  • K nowing body chemistry is important because people’s lives and health are important. To place this on a personal level, yotrr life and health are important. The reason I have devoted my life to the healing arts and teaching people how to live healthy lives is because I truly feel people-like you-are important. If you want to have a healthy life, you have to learn how to go about it. I have invested seventy years of my life learning how to take care of patients at my “live-in’’ health ranches, following what is called “the nature cure” phlosophy.

  • These replacement and/or supplementary supplies can be provided through organic manures and/or mineral fertilizers. This publication concerns the provision of raw mate- rials for two important mineral fertilizers, phosphate and potash. Three major nutrients are required in large quantities for plant growth, nitrogen, phosphorous and potassi- um. Three secondary nutrients are required in smaller quantities on some soils; sulfur, calcium and magne- sium. Seven micronutrients may be required in small amounts where deficient.

  • Assessing nutrient status of animals. After registration, the animal’s daily feed intake, daily milk yield and milk fat percent are recorded. In addition, the animal’s body weight is also record- ed. Based on milk yield, milk fat percent, body weight and the pregnancy status, the animal’s nutrient requirement is computed by the software. Considering the prevailing feeding practices (feed intake), consumption of nutrients, e.g. energy (TDN; total digestible nutrients), protein, calcium and phosphorus is assessed.

  • Hemolytic disorders that cause excessive heme production may be either inherited or acquired. Inherited disorders include spherocytosis, sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, and deficiency of red cell enzymes such as pyruvate kinase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. In these conditions, the serum bilirubin rarely exceeds 86 µmol/L (5 mg/dL). Higher levels may occur when there is coexistent renal or hepatocellular dysfunction or in acute hemolysis such as a sickle cell crisis.

  • Vitamin D deficiency, impaired 1,25(OH)2D production (primarily secondary to renal insufficiency), or, rarely, vitamin D resistance also cause hypocalcemia. However, the degree of hypocalcemia in these disorders is generally not as severe as that seen with hypoparathyroidism because the parathyroids are capable of mounting a compensatory increase in PTH secretion. Hypocalcemia may also occur in conditions associated with severe tissue injury such as burns, rhabdomyolysis, tumor lysis, or pancreatitis.

  • Chelators: Chelated iron and other chelated nutrients are used when a direct dose of a particular nutrient is needed to quickly solve a deficiency. Chelated products are organic compounds with attached inorganic metal molecules, which are more available for plant use. Compost, humus, humic acid, and microorganisms have natural chelating properties. Chemically, lime is the oxide of calcium, with the formula CaO. It occurs in limestone, marble, and chalk as calcium carbonate. Finely ground limestone is the best form to use because it will be more available to plants.
