Java programmers, you now have the resource you need to harness the considerable power of
design patterns. This unique book presents examples, exercises, and challenges that will help
you apply design pattern theory to real-world problems. Steve Metsker's learn-by-doing
approach helps you enhance your practical skills and build the confidence you need to use
design patterns effectively in mission-critical applications.
Exploiting Software is loaded with examples of real attacks, attack patterns, tools, and
techniques used by bad guys to break software. If you want to protect your software from
attack, you must first learn how real attacks are really carried out.
The book is completely up-to-date with code, best practices, and browser compatibilities for HTML5 and CSS3—enabling you to dive in and make use of these new technologies in production environments.
Pro HTML5 and CSS3 Design Patterns is so much more than just a cookbook, though! It systematically covers every usable feature of CSS3 and combines these features with HTML5 to create reusable patterns.
If you’re ever writing code and get the funny feeling that you’ve solved the
problem you’re working on before, you probably have. You may well have
come across the same type of situation in the past, puzzled about it, and
come up with the solution. And before that, you may have faced the same
type of situation and come up with the same type of solution. And even
before that . . . same thing.
This unique book takes good ASP.NET application construction one step further by emphasizing loosely coupled and highly cohesive ASP.NET web application architectural design. Each chapter
addresses a layer in an enterprise ASP.NET application and shows how proven patterns, principles, and best practices can be leveraged to solve problems and improve the design of your code. In addition, a professional-level, end-to-end case study is used to show how to use best practice design patterns and principles in a real website.
Professional ASP.NET Design Patterns:...
This book presents a series of case studies illustrating the fundamentals of Agile development and Agile design, and moves quickly from UML models to real C# code. The introductory chapters lay out the basics of the agile movement, while the later chapters show proven techniques in action. The book includes many source code examples that are also available for download from the authors’ Web site.
“I received the book yesterday and started to read it on the way home... and I couldn’t stop. I took it to the gym and I expect people saw me smiling a lot while I was exercising and reading. This is tres ‘cool’. It is fun but they cover a lot of ground and they are right to the point. I’m really impressed.” — Erich Gamma, IBM Distinguished Engineer, and co-author of Design Patterns “‘Head First Design Patterns’ manages to mix fun, belly-laughs, insight, technical depth and great practical advice in one entertaining and thought provoking read. Whether you are...
To understand and master the Gemini Pattern Editor functions we must clearly define end explain the technical
A project represents a complete set of patterns that will be cut from one or more fabric types and then sewed together
to create a product.
In Gemini Pattern Editor program, a project represents a file that contain all information about pattern shape on all
sizes, together with other important information (product technical sheet, measurement table, fabric types, size set
These files are saved on the computer in a file with *.gem extension.
Design patterns are the cornerstones of building solid, stable, flexible, and feature-rich Web applications. This guide enables PHP developers to take advantage of everything they offer.
If you are unfamiliar with design patterns, this book explains what you need to know. Both novice and veteran PHP developers will benefit from the alphabetical list of design patterns and code examples showing how to implement each pattern in PHP
A step-by-step guide to create easy solutions to build your business using Windows Azure services
Explore the different features of Windows Azure and its unique concepts.
Get to know the Windows Azure platform by code snippets and samples by a single start-up scenario throughout the whole book.
A clean example scenario demonstrates the different Windows Azure features.
Build server-side applications more efficiently—and improve your PHP programming skills in the process—by learning how to use design patterns in your code. This book shows you how to apply several object-oriented patterns through simple examples, and demonstrates many of them in full-fledged working applications.
Learn how these reusable patterns help you solve complex problems, organize object-oriented code, and revise a big project by only changing small parts.
ActionScript 3.0 Design Patterns takes you step by step through the process, first by explaining how design patterns provide a clear road map for structuring code that actually makes OOP languages easier to learn and use. You then learn about various types of design patterns and construct small abstract examples before trying your hand at building full-fledged working applications outlined in the book. Topics in ActionScript 3.0 Design Patterns include:
Design patterns are reusable solutions to commonly occurring problems in software
design. They are both exciting and a fascinating topic to explore in any programming
One reason for this is that they help us build upon the combined experience of many
developers that came before us and ensure we structure our code in an optimized way,
meeting the needs of problems we're attempting to solve.
Design patterns also provide us a common vocabulary to describe solutions.
Learn to build configuration file readers, data readers, model-driven code generators, source-to-source translators, source analyzers, and interpreters. You don't need a background in computer science--ANTLR creator Terence Parr demystifies language implementation by breaking it down into the most common design patterns. Pattern by pattern, you'll learn the key skills you need to implement your own computer languages.
How do the experts solve difficult problems in software development? In this unique and insightful book, leading computer scientists offer case studies that reveal how they found unusual, carefully designed solutions to high-profile projects. You will be able to look over the shoulder of major coding and design experts to see problems through their eyes. This is not simply another design patterns book
Data into a computer (via a keyboard) is encoded by the electronics within the keyboard into an equivalent binary-coded pattern using standard coding schemes:
Two most common schemes:
EBCDIC (Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code): 8-bit code
ASCII ((American Standards Committee for Information Interchange): 7-bit code
In the late 1940’s Claude Shannon was developing information theory and coding as a mathematical model for communication. At the same time, Richard Hamming, a colleague of Shannon’s at Bell Laboratories, found a need for error correction in his work on computers. Parity checking was already being used to detect errors in the calculations of the relay-based computers of the day, and Hamming realized that a more sophisticated pattern of parity checking allowed the correction of single errors along with the detection of double errors.
