and mycelium demonstrate strong immunomodulating,
antioxidant and anticancer activity. We hypothesized, that
polysaccharide fractions enriched in selenium would possess
higher biological activity than non-enriched fractions, currently

In this chapter attention is focused on a representative volume of the reactor. This
volume contains one single fluid phase only. It is uniform in composition and
temperature. If the reactor is spatially uniform, the representative volume is the
total volume; if not, the representative volume is limited to a differential element
— a “point”.

Fresh leaves of Litsea glutinosa (Lour.) C. B. Rob. from Ha Tinh were steam distilled to produce an oil in 0.15% yield. The essential oil was analysis by a combination of capillary GC and GC/MS. Seventy eight compounds were detected in the oil, of which more than 95.18% were terpenoids. The major components were (E)-β-ocimene (13.35%), β-caryophyllene (27.20%) and bicyclogermacrene (18.16%).
Stability is a basic concern in both design and analysis of load-carrying systems and

In this study, the air-plasma generated by radio-frequency was used to treat bamboo fiber. The treatment parameters were studied to find the suitable condition. The testing on tensile strength, tensile modulus, module Weibull and elongation to break of the fiber, the measurement of contact angles and the SEM analysis showed that at the high frequency of 12 kHz, power 50 W and treatment time of 5 minutes, after air-plasma treatment the tensile strength and tensile modulus of bamboo fiber increased more than double (101.1% and 101.
A new approach of predicting structural classes of protein
domain sequences is presented in this paper. Besides the
amino acid composition, the composition of several
dipeptides, tripeptides, tetrapeptides, pentapeptides and
hexapeptides are taken into account based on the step-wise discriminant analysis. The result of jackknife test
shows that this new approach can lead to higher pre-dictive sensitivityand specificityfor reduced sequence
This paper deals with the analysis of non-linaer multilayered reinforced composite plates with simply supported along its four edges by Bubnov - Galerkin and Finite Element Methods. Numerical results are presented for illustrating theoretical analysis of reinforced and unreinforced laminated composite plates. This paper describes a compositional semantics for temporal expressions as part of the meaning representation language (MRL) of the JANUS system, a natural language understanding and generation system under joint development by BBN Laboratoires and the Information Sciences Institute. 1 The analysis is based on a higher order intansional logic described in detail in Hinrichs, Ayuso and Scha (1987). Temporal expressions of English are translated into this language as quantifiers over times which bind temporal indices on predicates.
