The role played by constraints in the generation of the answer is characterized in order to limit the cases of ambiguities requiring a clarification dialogue. The answers of the system are generated at different levels of detail, according to the user's competence in the domain. ...

This paper presents an experimental evaluation of two alternative response strategies in TOOT, a spoken dialogue agent that allows users to access train schedules stored on the web via a telephone conversation.

As an instructor , I have noticed that those students who describe being bored by a given film often cannot offer much in the way of interpretation of that film during group discussions, and that consequently they often perform poorly when writing about the film.

However, as demonstrated in Section 2.2, industry-level contracts do not necessarily provide an obstacle to the adjustment of wages to local conditions, as recent decentralisation tendencies in Germany have introduced the option of making such wage adjustments.
