Special issue paper PAR-3D-BLAST: A parallel tool for searching and aligning protein structures present a parallel tool, parallel 3D-BLAST (PAR- 3D-BLAST), which lists the similar structures to the query protein. Each protein in the result list has a structural similarity score and an alignment to the query structure. The presented tool is implemented to fit both the standalone multi-core computers and clusters of multi-core nodes. The achieved speedup is linear and scalable.
The book reinforces coverage from earlier courses in corporate finance, while providing new advanced material to challenge even the most prolific learners. In-depth coverage of core issues as well as the most current coverage of developing issues reshaping finance today are made clear through the book's reader-friendly approach, timely real business examples, integrated cases, and Excel spreadsheet models.
It is an established fact in Translation Studies that if a dozen
translators tackle the same poem, they will produce a dozen
different versions. And yet somewhere in those dozen versions there
will be what Popovič calls the ‘invariant core’ of the original poem. This invariant core, he claims, is represented by stable, basic and
constant semantic elements in the text, whose existence can be
proved by experimental semantic condensation.
Foundations of International Macroeconomics is an innovative text that offers the first integrative modern treatment of the core issues in open economy macroeconomics and finance. With its clear and accessible style, it is suitable for first-year graduate macroeconomics courses as well as graduate courses in international macroeconomics and finance. Each chapter incorporates an extensive and eclectic array of empirical evidence. For the beginning student, these examples provide motivation and aid in understanding the practical value of the economic models developed.
Oil and gas are the most important non-renewable sources of energy. Exploring, producing and managing these resources in compliance with HSE standards are challenging tasks. New technologies, workflows and procedures have to be implemented. This book deals with some of these themes and describes some of the advanced technologies related to the oil and gas industry from HSE to field management issues. Some new technologies for geo-modeling, transient well testing and digital rock physics are also introduced. There are many more technical topics to be addressed in future books.
Defining the various tasks required of GDHit was essential before any visual
brainstorming was approached. These tasks, once defined, helped clarify perceptions of layout
and functionality. The main function of the timeline is to search content chronologically (span a
set number of years), filter content (through the classification of various categories), read content
(the most important single function of the timeline) and filter contextually rather than linearly
(by filtering content through the Tags).
This book takes a fresh look at programs for advanced studies for high school students in the United States, with a particular focus on the Advanced Placement and the International Baccalaureate programs, and asks how advanced studies can be significantly improved in general. It also examines two of the core issues surrounding these programs: they can have a profound impact on other components of the education system and participation in the programs has become key to admission at selective institutions of higher education.
The marketing mix concept is one of the core concepts of
marketing theory. However, in recent years, the popular
version of this concept McCarthy’s (1964) 4Ps (product,
price, promotion and place) has increasingly come under
attack with the result that different marketing mixes
have been put forward for different marketing contexts.
While numerous modifications to the 4Ps framework
have been proposed (see for example Kotler, 1986;
Mindak and Fine, 1981; Nickels and Jolson, 1976;
Waterschoot and Bulte. 1992) the most concerted
criticism has come from the services marketing area.
In November 2009, EIF issued a working paper on the European microfinance market. In this
study, we found that there are wide spectra of final beneficiaries and intermediaries and
concluded that there is no common microfinance business model in Europe. While our findings
suggested that the microfinance market is immature and fragmented, they also pointed to its
growing importance as a market segment with a potential to counter poverty and unemployment
while fostering financial and social inclusion.
Science communicators Guide "(ISBN 0-387-26324-1) is a book that shows how to create science and communication between the perfect combination of inspiration and his many years of experience in the field examples from the Hubble European Space Agency Information Center provided by Lars Lindberg Christensen, and many hands-on practical science communication of the core issues opinions
States and law faculties of higher educational institutions are encouraged to
include international law as a core subject in their curricula. They are also
encouraged to introduce courses in international law for students studying law,
political science, social sciences and other relevant disciplines; they should study
the possibility of introducing topics of international law in the curricula of
schools at the primary and secondary levels.
There is some evidence of ‘alpha’ being generated by fund managers through
'skilful transaction activity and asset management. Opportunity fund
managers also appear to have generated superior returns through controlling
the timing of the buying and selling of assets, although, with performance
fees generally charged on IRRs rather than time-weighted returns, it is open to
debate as to whom this benefits more - the investor or the fund manager.
Opportunity funds have delivered higher returns than core funds over the
period 2003-2009. While core fund returns have been especially
disappointing, deeper analysis suggests that the additional returns delivered
by the opportunity funds may not be adequate to compensate
investors for the significantly higher levels of risk taken by fund managers to
achieve these returns.
Once the core people and skills are identified, ensure that they are aware of their
position and how they will be managed in the event of a pandemic. Consider strategies
for minimizing the possibility that they become ill with influenza: e.g. working from home
even in very early stages of a pandemic, or other social distancing measures.
If working from home is not a well-established practice in your organization, you may
wish to encourage staff to address computer connection or technological issues and
enable this option.

ADC works to continuously improve its products and processes with respect to quality and
performance. Specifically, ADC has made significant progress in improving its UPC SC and FC
connector design and manufacturing processes. While many competitors offer similar out-of-box
specifications, none can match ADC’s manufacturing processes that give consistent performance day
in and day out. ADC has 3 rd party testing in process to GR-326-CORE Issue 3 specifications.
ADC’s NG3® product line is Telcordia® GR-449-CORE, Issue 2 compliant
and designed to meet today’s high-density network needs. Each frame
option is designed with an emphasis on superior cable management
and ease of use, including features such as ample trough space for
cable and jumpers, easy access to connectors and storage for jumpers.
The frame sections are shipped from the factory fully equipped
with all cable management hardware including integrated jumper
This standard is issued under the fixed designation C 79/C 79M; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. Two-phase numerical model for thermal conductivity and convective heat transfer in nanofluids
Sasidhar Kondaraju, Joon Sang Lee*
Abstract Due to the numerous applications of nanofluids, investigating and understanding of thermophysical properties of nanofluids has currently become one of the core issues.
This book addresses the contribution of transport and energy infrastructure to poverty reduction. This is a core issue for ADB and for the other three donors that collaborated in producing this book (DFID, JBIC, and World Bank). The country studies examined this contribution in the People's Republic of China (PRC), India, and Thailand, which (particularly in the case of the PRC and India) are of strategic importance for overall ADB lending, and account for a substantial portion of total ADB lending for transport and energy....
