  • THE ROLE OF IMPORT SUBSITITUTION AND EXPORT ORIENTATION STRATEGIES ON THAILAND'ECONOMIC GROWTH This result calls the incentive effects of Tiebout choice into question, as it indicates that administrators of effective schools are no more likely to be rewarded with high demand for local housing in high-choice than in low-choice markets. To explore this further, I estimate models for the effect of Tiebout choice on mean scores across metropolitan areas. Consistent with the earlier results, I find no evidence that high-choice markets produce higher average SAT scores.

  • On Fiscal Discipline and the Choice of Exchange Rate Regine This result conflicts with a well-known recent result from Hoxby (2000a), who argues that metropolitan areas with less centralized educational governance, and therefore more competition among local school districts, produce better student outcomes at lower cost. In Chapter Two, I attempt to get to the bottom of the discrepancy. I reanalyze a portion of Hoxby’s data, and find reason to suspect the validity of her conclusions.

  • The Market for Higher Education: Economic Analyses of College Choice , Returns , and State Aid Policy A thesis Present I find suggestive evidence, however, that her estimates, from a sample of public school students, are upward biased by selection into private schools. Moreover, an investigation of the sampling variability of Hoxby’s estimates leads to the conclusion that her standard errors are understated, and that even her own point estimates of the competitive effect are not significantly different from zero....

  • Expert systems represent a branch of artificial intelligence aiming to take the experience of human specialists and transfer it to a computer system. The knowledge is stored in the computer, which by an execution system (inference engine) is reasoning and derives specific conclusions for the problem. The purpose of expert systems is to help and support user’s reasoning but not by replacing human judgement. In fact, expert systems offer to the inexperienced user a solution when human experts are not available....

  • The (estimated) number of angel investors active both within networks and on an independent basis (individual activity or in syndicates) is estimated to be around 75k in Europe (EBAN, 2010c); the corresponding figure for the US is 259k. Often Business Angels in the US are “Serial Angels” - this means they invest regularly. In terms of overall investment, the amount invested by angels annually is EUR 3 to 5bn in the EU (invested into approx. 2800 companies (2009 data)), compared to USD 20.1bn (approx. EUR 14.9bn) in the US (invested into 61,900 companies (Sohl, 2011)).

  • This paper presents a stock flow model of two economies (together comprising the whole world) which trade goods and financial assets with one another. The accounting framework, though comprehensive in its own terms, is very much simplified (it has interest rates without interest payments and exchange rate changes without changes in relative prices) so as to reach the main conclusions as simply and easily as possible.

Liang (2006) defined the web stock news volumes (WSNV) indicator and measured the impact of it on financial market behavior. He classified news according to direct and indirect aspects: direct news comes from a dedicated site containing the current news of a certain company; indirect news: company is mentioned on an other news site. His main conclusion is that significant increases of web stock news volumes are linked with the significant changes of stock prices.

The question is called "rhetorical" because it is not a true question. It is an answer in the guise of a question. Note that the subject and verb can be made plural (Is this/Are these). After the first template, you need to expand the new thought—explain it and perhaps give examples. f Is this the only possible interpretation of choice in/of solution for/of course of action in Of course not. ? -\ Example A r e t h e s e t h e o...

  • The present book is based on the lectures delivered by the author in the past few years as part of the Criminal Law course of the Faculty of Law at the Ono Academic College. There has been little research on the principle of legality in modern criminal law, although this is one of the most ancient legal principles of human society. In recent generations there have been several attempts to define the principle conclusively, but only with regard to some of its aspects. No comprehensive definition of the principle of legality has been attempted to date....

  • Some observations need to be made regarding the FSA findings. The average price of homes in the U.K. from £ 137,273 in Q2 2002 to £179,170 in Q2 2012 reflects a nominal price development. If one corrects these prices on basis of U.K inflation levels over this period, than the conclusion is that over this decade nothing extraordinary has happened: house prices have just kept up with U.K. inflation levels and nothing more than that. Of course the period of 2002-2007 showed rapid value changes, but the correction has taken place over the period 2007-2012. A study based on...

  • Nature abhors a vacuum. Me, too, I guess I tried to fill it in my usual ways. Drank too much beer, cooked elaborate Mexican dinners, walked aimlessly in the dripping woods under slate-gray Oregon skies. And of course, I watched television: old movies seen in worn prints, music videos with strutting rock stars, baseball games inching to conclusion across bright-green fields Ghost images, ghost voices pulled by my dish antenna from the satellite-thick sky. The void remained: I had a talent growing slack from disuse; I had an empty space in my bed.

  • That being said, when a specific facility is talked about, for clarity, we refer to it as a proper name and, if necessary, include its function (e.g., Ames 12-Foot Pressure Wind Tunnel). As well, the term “test facilities” and “facilities” can be substituted to mean “WT/PT facilities.” Of course, NASA owns and operates other types of test facilities outside of WT/PT facilities, but our conclusions and recommendations do not apply to them. iii .
