  • Analytical expressions for the Morse potential parameters of diamond crystals have been derived. They contain the energy of sublimation, the compressibility and the lattice constant. Numerical calculations have been carried out for Si and Sn, and the results reflect fundamental properties of this potential. The obtained Morse potential parameters have been used for calculation of the anharmonic correlated effective potentials of these crystals in XAFS theory showing clearly anharmonic effects . ...

  • Lithium fluoride (LiF) thermoluminescent powder doped with Mg, Cu, Na, and Si as activators was prepared. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that doping LiF with different activators makes crystal lattice somewhat expand. The dosimetric properties of the powder were studied. The main dosimetric peak of LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si appeared in the range of 227−247o C and the ratio of the height of the main peak to that of the other small peaks in the LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si is much greater than that in the LiF:Mg,Ti and LiF:Mg,Cu,P. ...

  • A series of cobalt doped nickel ferrite with composition of Ni1-XCoXFe2O4 with x ranges from 0.0 to 0.8 (in steps of 0.2) was prepared by using co-precipitation method and subsequently sintered, annealed at 6000C for 3h. The influence of the Co content on the crystal lattice parameter, the stretching vibration and the magnetization of specimens were subsequently studied.   • Starch defines a semicrystalline polymer made of two different polysaccharide fractions. The A- and B-type crystalline lattices define the distinct structures reported in cereal and tuber starches, respectively.   • It was the first time that zeolite NaY with the SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of 3.8 was synthesized from phlogopite taken in Yen Bai of Vietnam in the presence of organic complex, NaOH and liquid glass. Synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Infrared lattice vibration (IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Surface area by BET technique. The obtained results showed that the synthesized samples were well crystallized.

  • The crystal structure and thermoelectric properties of La(Fe1-xSix)13 compounds were investigated by means of X-ray powder diffraction and electrical resistivity, thermopower and thermal conductivity measurements. The single NaZn13-type cubic structure phase is stabilized for the compounds with x = 0.12, 0.14 and 0.15.   • To maximize the extent of the photonic bandgap in a finite-height photonic-crystal (PhC) slab one can increase the fill-factor in the PhC lattice. Among the realistic choices of possible 2D lattices, high fill- factor triangular lattices of cylindrical holes in a high index dielectric, namely silicon, are by far the most commonly used. In this paper, we present a method for fabrication of very high fill-factor PhC devices in silicon-on-insulator (SOI) substrates using electron-beam lithography and high-aspect-ratio reactive-ion etching (RIE).
