“Advances in Spacecraft Systems and Orbit Determinations”, discusses the
development of new technologies and the limitations of the present technology, used
for interplanetary missions. Various experts have contributed to develop the bridge
between present limitations and technology growth to overcome the limitations. Key
features of this book inform us about the orbit determination techniques based on a
smooth research based on astrophysics.
TWO ESSAYS IN INTERNATIONAL ECONOMICS: AN EMPIRICAL APPROACH TO PURCHASING POWER PARITY AND THE MONETARY MODEL OF EXCHANGE RATE DETERMINATION I adopt a different strategy: I compare housing markets that differ in the strength of
the residential location-school assignment link, and I develop simple reduced-form
implications of parental valuations for the across-school distribution of student
characteristics and educational outcomes as a function of the strength of this link.
[ Team LiB ] Recipe 10.4 Determining the Length of Columns in a SQL Server Table Problem The FillSchema( ) method of the DataAdapter returns the correct length in the MaxLength property for string columns in a SQL Server database, but it returns -1 for the length of all other fields.
First, standard cross-sectional determinants of firms’ capital structures also apply to
large, publicly traded banks in the US and Europe, except for banks close to the
minimum capital requirement. The sign and significance of the effect of most variables
on bank capital structure are identical to the estimates found for non-financial firms.
This is true for both book and market leverage, Tier 1 capital, when controlling for risk
and macro factors, for US and EU banks examined separately, as well as when
examining a series of cross-sectional regressions over time. ...
DETERMINANTS OF THE EARNINGS GAP BETWEEN BLACKS AND WHITES: A HUMAN CAPITAL APPROACH Tiebout Sorting and the Role of Peer Groups: Intuition
In this section I describe the Tiebout choice process and its observable implications
in the context of a very simple educational technology with peer effects.
[ Team LiB ] Recipe 3.3 Determining the Differences in Data Between Two DataSet Objects Problem You have two DataSet objects with the same schema but containing different data and need to determine the difference between the data in the two.
Objective of study determining diet formula for 4-breeds exotic hybrid with optimal protein level bases on balancing some essential amino acids includes: lysine, methionine and threonine in order to improve grow capacity, feed utilization efficiency and to reduce urinal and faecal nitrogen and phosphorus excretion; formulating some formulas base on the local ingredients with optimal protein and amino acids level to ensure production efficiency of exotic 4-breeds hybrid and to reduce environment pollution in pig production.
Bremsstrahlung energy spectrum from thin W target produced by 15 MeV incident electrons was determined by a combination of measurements and theoretical calculation. The shape of spectrum was calculated by Monte-Carlo method using the code EGS4. The photon flux measurements were performed based on the activation technique using the high pure metallic foils. The radioactivities of the irradiated foils were measured by using a gamma spectrometer with a high energy resolution HPGe detector.
This paper examines the use of an unsupervised statistical model for determining the attachment of ambiguous coordinate phrases (CP) of the form n l p n2 cc n3. The model presented here is based on JAR98], an unsupervised model for determining prepositional phrase attachment. After training on unannotated 1988 Wall Street Journal text, the model performs at 72% accuracy on a development set from sections 14 through 19 of the WSJ TreeBank [MSM93]. 1 Introduction [AR98] models.
The degree of dominance of a sense of a word is the proportion of occurrences of that sense in text. We propose four new methods to accurately determine word sense dominance using raw text and a published thesaurus. Unlike the McCarthy et al. (2004) system, these methods can be used on relatively small target texts, without the need for a similarly-sensedistributed auxiliary text. We perform an extensive evaluation using artificially generated thesaurus-sense-tagged data.
This paper explores the determinants of adjective-noun plausibility by using correlation analysis to compare judgements elicited from human subjects with five corpus-based variables: co-occurrence frequency of the adjective-noun pair, noun frequency, conditional probability of the noun given the adjective, the log-likelihood ratio, and Resnik's (1993) selectional association measure. The highest correlation is obtained with the co-occurrence frequency, which points to the strongly lexicalist and collocational nature of adjective-noun combinations.
In statistical natural language processing we always face the problem of sparse data. One way to reduce this problem is to group words into equivalence classes which is a standard method in statistical language modeling. In this paper we describe a method to determine bilingual word classes suitable for statistical machine translation. We develop an optimization criterion based on a maximumlikelihood approach and describe a clustering algorithm. We will show that the usage of the bilingual word classes we get can improve statistical machine translation. ...
This article describes the current state of syntactic analysis of Estonian using Constraint Grammar. Constraint Grammar framework divides parsing into two different modules: morphological disambiguation and determination of syntactic functions. This article focuses on the last module in detail. If the morphological disambiguator achieves the precision more than 85% and error rate is smaller than 2% then 80-88% of words becomes syntactically unambiguous.
A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of arsenic using variamine blue as a chromogenic reagent. The method is based on the reaction of arsenic(III) with potassium iodate in acid medium to liberate iodine, which oxidizes variamine blue to form a violet coloured species having an absorption maximum at 556 nm.
In this chapter: Explain how exchange rate movements are measured, explain how the equilibrium exchange rate is determined, examine factors that determine the equilibrium exchange rate, explain the movement in cross exchange rates, explain how financial institutions attempt to capitalize on anticipated exchange rate movements.
In this chapter, students will be able to: Learn the financial and statistical issues in the determination of sample size, discover the methods for determining sample size, gain an appreciation of a normal distribution, understand population, sample, and sampling distribution, distinguish between point and interval estimates, recognize problems involving sampling means and proportions.
This paper describes a novel instancebased sentence boundary determination method for natural language generation that optimizes a set of criteria based on examples in a corpus. Compared to existing sentence boundary determination approaches, our work offers three significant contributions. First, our approach provides a general domain independent framework that effectively addresses sentence boundary determination by balancing a comprehensive set of sentence complexity and quality related constraints.
Opinion mining is a recent subdiscipline of computational linguistics which is concerned not with the topic a document is about, but with the opinion it expresses. To aid the extraction of opinions from text, recent work has tackled the issue of determining the orientation of “subjective” terms contained in text, i.e. deciding whether a term that carries opinionated content has a positive or a negative connotation.
