In fall 2001, the RAND Corporation conducted a survey of officers and enlisted personnel who had recently returned from a deployment to Prince Sultan Air Base (PSAB) or Eskan Village in Saudi Arabia. This documented briefing reports the results of that effort, using survey data to consider the utility of a PSAB/Eskan deployment as a setting for skill broadening and competency development. In doing so, this research addresses the larger issue of whether the learning that occurs during deployments merits tracking....
Jayme Schroeder was introduced to computers at a very young age. By 11, he had started

In early 2011, Jayme had received an Android smartphone and immediately fell in love with the development experience. Since then, he has been researching and developing for the Android platform on a daily basis.

The global development experience of the past century has shown that economic growth cannot be sustained without taking into consideration the social and political development of vulnerable populations, including the struggle for minority rights. Within this context, this volume argues for the support of an interdisciplinary discussion that aims to link studies surrounding the development of minorities in Asia.
This book looks into PHP projects mainly from an enterprise view. The author's experience enables him to give you an overall picture of PHP projects and discuss factors that contribute to project success in a clear and precise manner. Each chapter focuses specifically on how the techniques covered will make team work easier. Examples (rather than abstract best practices) are used to illustrate the practical benefits. This book is for PHP developers who work in teams on complex PHP projects.
I would like to acknowledge the contribution made to this book by
colleagues in the Open University Business School who helped to shape
my ideas and writing in the field of project management. Some of the
material in this book was published in a similar form but in a different
context as Managing Projects in Health and Social Care, published by
Routledge in 2002. Acknowledgement is also due to Eddie Fisher, Stephen
Oliver and others who have contributed ideas from their experience.
As the Internet continues to grow exponentially, the need for network engineers to build, maintain,
and troubleshoot the growing number of component networks also has increased significantly.
Because network troubleshooting is a practical skill that requires on-the-job experience, it has
become critical that the learning curve necessary to gain expertise in internetworking technologies be
reduced to quickly fill the void of skilled network engineers needed to support the fast-growing

Tourism is big business and getting bigger. In the 20 years from1980 to 2000
global tourism receipts increased at an annual rate of nearly 8 per cent,
much faster than the rate of world economic growth of around 3 per cent.
In 2000, income from tourism combined with passenger transport totaled
more than $575 billion, making this sector the world number one export
earner, ahead of automotive production, chemicals, petroleum and food
(UNEP web site1).

Welcome to the exciting world of HTML5! If you’re an ASP.NET developer looking to turbocharge your
ASP.NET applications with HTML5 features, you’ve picked the right book. Compared to its successors,
HTML5 offers a much richer and complex set of features. HTML5 isn’t just about additional markup tags—
it’s about APIs that you can program using client-side script.
On one hand, HTML5 simplifies tasks that weren’t possible previously; but at the same time, it calls for
a detailed understanding of HTML5 features and ways to integrate those features into your applications.
No book is the product of its author(s) or editor(s) alone. This book is no
different. Accordingly, we would especially like to thank Dr. Don Cole,
president of the Organization Development Institute, for his support of this
project. Although he did not see the many drafts of this work, he was supportive
of it. It was his original idea to define the knowledge and skill necessary for
competence in OD.
