  • The extensive application of AI in domestic animals is demanding an efficient technique with high rate of success. Methods of improving the success of AI are subsequently emanating from continuous research in the areas of procuring the best quality semen that also require employing a rigours semen evaluation system. This book was prepared with an intention of creating a useful addition to an already available literature on different aspects of AI.

  • Furthermore, Americans have gotten more sophisticated about food and have learned their fair share about wine. These days, wine tastings take place at the local liquor store, and comprehensive classes can be had at community colleges and universities, democratizing a formerly elite subject (Malone, 2003). In the past, diners were at the mercy of the sommelier, now they read books like “Wine for Dummies” and make authoritative choices on their own.

  • Consequently, it is necessary to integrate the information of all the spectral images to classify tissues. Multi-spectral image processing techniques [1-3] are hence employed to collect spectral information for classification and of clinically critical values. In this paper, a new classification approach was proposed, it is called unsupervised Vector Seeded Region Growing (UVSRG). The UVSRG mainly select seed pixel vectors by means of standard deviation and relative Euclidean distance.

  • We find strong evidence that having access to a car is particularly important for black and Latino workers. We find a difference in employment rates between car-owners and non car-owners that is considerably larger among black workers than among white workers. Moreover, the car- employment effect for Latino workers is significantly greater than the comparable effect for non- Latino white workers yet significantly smaller than the effect for black workers.

  • The Congressional Budget Office consistently concludes that infrastructure and other state spending provide considerable boosts to the economy, while income tax changes for high- income households have minimal impact on short-term economic activity. Tax cuts for affluent households result in small increases in spending, and tax hikes result in only small decreases. Low- and middle-income households, on the other hand, have little savings, and reductions in their after-tax income result in equivalent reductions in spending.

  • The Mural Arts Program has created more than 2,700 murals throughout the city and is one of Philadelphia’s largest employers of artists, employing more than 300 per year. Created two decades ago as a response to graffiti and youth crime, the program provides opportunities for more than 3,000 young people each year. The way in which murals become focal points for creating social capital is often underappreciated. To get a mural commissioned, a neighborhood has to organize and apply, contribute time and energy, and agree on the themes and images to be represented.

  • Diagnosis is fundamental to the appropriate treatment and wellbeing of the equine patient. Despite the many excellent clinical texts that are available, few seem to explain in sufficiently precise terms which clinicopathological tests are appropriate or how particular techniques should be performed. The first edition of this book was designed to provide an illustrated practical guide to the various diagnostic techniques employed in equine medicine. This second edition is an update by international experts in the field.

  • Our results are as follows. We find that - within the confines of the set of models we consider - it is hard to account for a boom-bust episode (an episode in which consumption, investment, output, employment and the stock market all rise sharply and then crash) in a model that abstracts from nominal frictions. However, when we introduce an inflation targeting central bank and sticky nominal wages, a theory of boom-busts emerges naturally. In our environment, inflation targeting suboptimally converts what would otherwise be a small economic fluctuation into a major boom- bust episode.

  • The technique can be applied for chlorophyll level monitoring in basic photosynthesis research, agriculture, horticulture, and forestry. Abiotic stress (water deficit, salinity, heat, heavy metals soil contamination, intense light, etc) affects significantly crop growth and yield in agricultural areas all over the world. Thus, it is imperative to study their effect upon the crops and discriminate among abiotic stresses using new noninvasive and nondestructive remote sensing precision diagnostic techniques.
