A basic result in the theory of holomorphic functions of several complex variables is the following special case of the work of H. Cartan on the sheaf cohomology on Stein domains (, or see or for more modern treatments). Theorem 1.1. If V is an analytic variety in a domain of holomorphy Ω and if f is a holomorphic function on V , then there is a holomorphic function g in Ω such that g = f on V . The subject of this paper concerns an add-on to the structure considered in Theorem 1.1 which...
The first edition of this text was written in the early 1990s. Since then, the field of
clinical research methods has continued to develop rapidly, and this second
edition has been extensively updated to reflect these developments. We have also
tried to make the whole book more user friendly, both in layout and in content.
All chapters now have summaries and boxes highlighting the key points, and we
have provided many more illustrative examples.
The biggest area of change is in our treatment of qualitative methods.
Tuyển tập các báo cáo nghiên cứu khoa học ngành toán học được đăng trên tạp chí toán học quốc tế đề tài: A note on the almost sure limit theorem for self-normalized partial sums of random variables in the domain of attraction of the normal law
Domains within the multienzyme polyketide synthases are linked by non-catalytic sequences of variable length and unknown function. Recently, the
crystal structure was reported of a portion of the linker between the acyl-transferase (AT) and ketoreductase (KR) domains from module 1 of the
erythromycin synthase (6-deoxyerythronolide B synthase), as a pseudo-dimer with the adjacent ketoreductase (KR).
The theory of variable structure systems with sliding modes is currently one of the
most important research topics within the control engineering domain. Moreover,
recently a number of important applications of the systems primarily in the fi eld of
power electronics, control of electric drives, robotics and position regulation of sophisticated
mechanical systems have also been reported.
Chapter 3 REFINEMENTS OF THE LIMIT THEOREMS FOR NORMAL CONVERGENCE
§ 1 . Introduction In this chapter we consider a sequence X 1 , X2 , . . . of independent, identically distributed random variables belonging to the domain of attraction of the normal law. As shown in § 2 .6, the X; necessarily have a finite variance a 2 .
Chapter 2 STABLE DISTRIBUTIONS ; ANALYTICAL PROPERTIES AND DOMAINS OF ATTRACTION
§ 1. Stable distributions Definition . A distribution function F is called stable if, for any a 1 , a2 0 and any b1 , b2 , there exist constants a 0 and b such that F(a l x+b l ) * F(a 2 x+b2) = F(ax+b) . (2.1 .1)
Chapter 5 LIMIT THEOREMS IN Lp SPACES
§ 1 . Statement of the problem Consider the sequence X1 , X2 , . . . of independent random variables with the same distribution F. If F belongs to the domain of attraction of a stable law G« with exponent a, then the distribution functions Fn of the normalised sums Zn = (X1 + X2+ . . . + Xn - An)/Bn satisfy lim Fn (x) = G a (x)
We consider a semi-supervised setting for domain adaptation where only unlabeled data is available for the target domain. One way to tackle this problem is to train a generative model with latent variables on the mixture of data from the source and target domains. Such a model would cluster features in both domains and ensure that at least some of the latent variables are predictive of the label on the source domain.
In this paper, we introduce a method of extending the domain of a random mapping admitting the series expansion. This method is based on the convergence of certain random series. Some conditions under which a random mapping can be extended to apply to all $X$ - valued random variables will be presented.

Vertebrate metallothioneins are found to contain Zn(II) and variable
amounts of Cu(I),in vivo, and are believed to be important for d
control. To date, structural information is available for the Zn(II) and
Cd(II) forms, but not for the Cu(I) or mixed metal forms. Cu(I) binding to
metallothionein-1 has been investigated by circular dichroism, luminescence
H NMR using two synthetic fragments representing thea- and the
Recurrent missense fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) mutations
have been ascribed to skeletal dysplasias of variable severity including the
lethal neonatal thanatophoric dysplasia types I (TDI) and II (TDII). To
elucidate the role of activating mutations causing TDI on receptor traffick-ing and endocytosis, a series of four mutants located in different domains
of the receptor were generated and transiently expressed.
Intracellularly expressed antibodies (intrabodies) have been used to inhibit
the function of various kinds of protein inside cells. However, problems
with stability and functional expression of intrabodies in the cytosol remain
unsolved. In this study, we show that single-chain variable fragment (scFv)
intrabodies constructed with a heavy chain variable (VH) leader signal
sequence at the N-terminus were translocated from the endoplasmic reti-culum into the cytosol of T lymphocytes and inhibited the function of
the target molecule, Wiskott–Aldrich syndrome protein (WASP)....
Superantigens (SAgs) are a class of disease-causing and
immunostimulatory proteins of bacterial or viral origin that
activate a large number of T-cells through interaction with
the Vbdomain of T-cell receptors (TCRs). In this study,
recombinant TCRbchains were constructed with human
variable domains Vb5.2, Vb1and Vb2.1, expressed as
inclusion bodies, refolded and purified. The Streptococcus
pyogenesSAg SSA-1 was cloned and expressed as a soluble
periplasmicprotein. SSA-1wasobtainedbothas amonomer
and a dimer that has an intermolecular disulfide bond. ...
Small heat shock proteins (sHsps) are intracellular molecular chaperones
that prevent the aggregation and precipitation of partially folded and
destabilized proteins. sHsps comprise an evolutionarily conserved region of
80–100 amino acids, denoted thea-crystallin domain, which is flanked by
regions of variable sequence and length: the N-terminal domain and the
The new antigen receptor (IgNAR) from sharks is a disul-phide bonded dimer of two protein chains, each containing
one variable and five constant domains, and functions as an
antibody. In order to assess the antigen-binding capabilities
of isolated IgNAR variable domains (VNAR),we have con-structed anin vitro library incorporating synthetic CDR3
regions of 15–18 residues in length.
In this paper, a new conceptual model for the above problem was developed and the effect of different types of boundary conditions such as sea effect on the right side of the domain, tidal effect on the top of the domain, rainfall and evaporation effect on the top boundary at the upland was studied.
With the ever increasing amounts of data in electronic form, the need for automated methods
for data analysis continues to grow. The goal of machine learning is to develop methods that
can automatically detect patterns in data, and then to use the uncovered patterns to predict
future data or other outcomes of interest. Machine learning is thus closely related to the fields
of statistics and data mining, but differs slightly in terms of its emphasis and terminology.
