Effects of compost, mycorrhiza, manure and fertilizer on some physical properties of a Chromoxerert soil field experiment was conducted to explore the role of mycorrhizal inoculation and organic fertilizers on the alteration of physical properties of a semi-arid Mediterranean soil (Entic Chromoxerert, Arik clay-loam soil). From 1995 to 1999, wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), pepper (Capsicum annuum L.), maize (Zea mays L.
This research examines how differences in the organization of brand information in memory between higher and lower knowledge consumers affects which brands are retrieved when consumers are provided with a usage situation. A spreading activation network model of memory is used to predict the results of an experiment where the usage situations were varied at encoding and repeated recall sessions.
An experiment was carried out in the greenhouse conditions with Brassica juncea L. grown on alluvial soils that had previously been contaminated at different concentrations of Cu. The main purposes of the research were to determine the effects of Cu and phosphorus applications on plant growth and Cu uptake by Brassica juncea L. Mature plants were harvested for the Cu accumulation analysis. The soil samples from each growing pot were extracted by HNO3 0.
The application of biosolids as a fertilizer in agricultural cultivation are common practices in many countries. This study investigates the effects of such practices in field experiments on Fluvisol and Acrisol soils in peri-urban Hanoi City. We compared biosolidfertilized vegetable/rice-dominated systems (biosolids
We used mill-level production and pollution data to estimate (1) the effect of China’s
system of pollution control levies on three environmental effluents, and then (2) examined
further the effect of this system of levies on the technical efficiency of mill-level production.
Our results show that the pollution levies worked for those larger establishments that were
the main targets of reform policies in this period.
As the amount of on-line scientific literature in the biomedical domain increases, automatic processing has become a promising approach for accelerating research. We are applying syntactic parsing trained on the general domain to identify proteinprotein interactions. One of the main difficulties obstructing the use of language processing is the prevalence of specialized terminology. Accordingly, we have created a specialized dictionary by compiling on-line glossaries, and have applied it for information extraction.
Winning is a habit. So is losing. Twenty-five years of experience, thought, and research have convinced Covey that seven habits distinguish the happy, healthy, successful from those who fail or who must sacrifice meaning and happiness for success in the narrow sense.
With many millions of dollars being spent annually by governments
on promotion to attract foreign investors to various
countries, a perplexing question has become increasingly important:
Does investment promotion really work? Jacques Morisset
and Kelly Andrews-Johnson have made a major step in providing
a convincing answer to this and associated questions.
Biological Effects of Synthetic Surfactants and Participation of Hydrobionts in Water Purification
Experience indicates the negative impacts of surfactants and surfactant-containing preparations on representatives of the major functional ecosystemic blocks, including both autotrophic and heterotrophic organisms (see above). The author realizes that interpretation of the results obtained requires great caution and there are many factors that can affect the manifestation of biological effects of synthetic surfactants in more complex systems.
Timely harvest plays an important role in controlling rice cracking. Reduced whole-grain rice
bring cracks caused by the loss of value and reduce the income of farmers. field experiments
was conducted to study the effect of harvest time around the crack growth of rice plants
Head rice yield in seven popular varieties (OM1490, OM2718, OM2517, OM4498, AG24,
IR50404 and Jasmine) in three different locations in the two harvest years (2006-2008).
Mekong Delta, Vietnam. The results show that cracking of rice has strong influence
by the variety and harvest time about growing up....
This briefing paper was commissioned by Ericsson (global provider of
telecommunications equipment and related services) and Zain (mobile operator
active in seven Middle Eastern and fifteen sub-Saharan African countries) in order
to describe the social and economic impact that mobile communication is having in
Sudan. The paper aims to give a concise overview of the key economic and social
effects of mobile telephony in Sudan and the social and economic development case
for continued investment in telecommunications infrastructure by foreign companies.
Learning behavioral science is an important part of becoming physicians.More and
more, professional and accrediting organizations are explicitly endorsing the necessity
of physicians being skilled and well trained in these areas.
Principles of Dose Selection The desired goal of therapy with any drug is to maximize the likelihood of a beneficial effect while minimizing the risk of adverse effects. Previous experience with the drug, in controlled clinical trials or in postmarketing use, defines the relationships between dose (or plasma concentration) and these dual effects and provides a starting point for initiation of drug therapy.
Figure 5-1 illustrates the relationships among dose, plasma concentrations, efficacy, and adverse effects and carries with it several important implications:
Good customer experience is a business imperative to grow and sustain competitive differentiation in today’s market. If brands deliver the experiences customers want, customers will reciprocate with loyalty, advocacy, and repeat business resulting in long-lasting and profitable relationships.
Customer experience is the customer’s perceptions and related feelings caused by the one-off and cumulative effect of interactions with a supplier’s employees, channels, systems, or products.

This commonly used method of procuring furniture and equipment, requires a pool of
qualified, interested bidders and clear, detailed specifications in order to achieve the
desired result. Since the paperwork required is substantial, it calls for more effort by the
bidding agency, and sometimes discourages prospective bidders. The open advertisement
policy, typical of competitive bidding, can attract bidders who lack the experience,
expertise, and financial stability required for this highly specialized type of project.
An essential part of any business impact analysis is determining the potential effects of a
pandemic on company business financials using multiple possible scenarios that affect
different product lines and/or production sites. Depending on the sector and severity of
the pandemic, the decline in demand could range from 3 per cent (mild scenario,
manufacturing industry) to 67 percent (severe scenario, transportation and warehousing
industry). Conversely, demand in the health sector will increase.
In this paper, we propose a method for compiling travel information automatically. For the compilation, we focus on travel blogs, which are defined as travel journals written by bloggers in diary form. We consider that travel blogs are a useful information source for obtaining travel information, because many bloggers' travel experiences are written in this form. Therefore, we identified travel blogs in a blog database and extracted travel information from them. We have confirmed the effectiveness of our method by experiment. ...
