This paper illustrates the relationship between language and embodiment through evidence of the English and Vietnamese language. Evidence presented confirms that there is a close correlation between language and embodiment, thus inferring the implication for the job of teaching and learning languages, which requires the task takers to be equipped with knowledge of this relationship in order to provide a meaningful and productive work.
1. Introduction* Cognitive Linguistics (CL) has emerged since the early 1980s, and has been of great interest for linguists.
This manual provides an introduction to Rational Rose. Rational Rose is the visual
modeling tool that is part of a comprehensive set of tools that embody software
engineering best practices and span the entire software development life cycle.
Rational Rose helps improve communication both within teams and across team
boundaries, reducing development time and improving software quality.
This guide is intended for all users of Rational Rose, including administrators,
analysts, architects, and developers....
Slang is language deliberately selected for its striking informality and is consciously used in preference to ‘proper’ speech (or, more rarely, writing). It usually originates in small social groups. For
these groups, it is a private code that embodies their particular values and behaviour and reinforces their exclusivity. Slang expressions may escape the originating group and become more widely used, and although slang draws much of its effect from its novelty, some terms (booze, punk, cool) may stay in the language for many years....
The implementation of wireless connectivity is predicated upon the definition of so-called wireless standards, of which GSM, DECT, CDPD, GPRS, and CDMA are examples [7, 8]. Each of these standards embodies the precise set of parameters that dictate the architecture and software design of wireless systems operating under the standard to effect intelligible communicationwith other systems also operating within the standard.

Interest in using artificial neural networks (ANNs) for forecasting has led to a tremendous surge in research activities in
the past decade. While ANNs provide a great deal of promise, they also embody much uncertainty. Researchers to date are
still not certain about the effect of key factors on forecasting performance of ANNs. This paper presents a state-of-the-art
survey of ANN applications in forecasting.
The Dhammapada is a collection of Gems which should be the handbook of
every Buddhist. Its contents ought to be read and re-read, studied and
mastered, and, above all, put into daily practice.
The golden sayings embodied in this sacred book aptly illustrate the moral
and philosophical teachings of the Buddha.

This volume covers a diverse collection of topics dealing with some of the fundamental
concepts and applications embodied in the study of nonlinear dynamics. Each of the 15
chapters contained in this compendium generally fit into one of five topical areas: physics
applications, nonlinear oscillators, electrical and mechanical systems, biological and
behavioral applications or random processes. The authors of these chapters have
contributed a stimulating cross section of new results, which provide a fertile spectrum of
ideas that will inspire both seasoned researches and students....
With the adoption of these English–language arts
content standards in 1997, California set forth for the
first time a uniform and specific vision of what
students should know and be able to do in this subject
area. Reflecting a strong consensus among educators,
these standards establish high expectations for all
Front End Technology
Front End design – including RF Architecture, Data Conversion and Digital Front Ends – has emerged as a key issue as SDR techniques are finding themselves increasingly embodied by stealth into today’s new products. The radical solution – ‘Pure’ Software Radio, with A/D conversion at the antenna – is not yet feasible at GHz carrier frequencies. However, recent technology advances suggest it may be nearer than had been thought.
Environmental Chemistry is a relatively young science. Interest in this subject, however, is growing very rapidly and, although no agreement has been reached as yet about the exact content and limits of this interdisciplinary discipline, there appears to be increasing interest in seeing environmental topics which are based on chemistry embodied in this subject. One of the first objectives of Environmental Chemistry must be the study of the environment and of natural chemical processes which occur in the environment.

Few things in the universe are constant over thousands or millions of
years, not the orbit of the Earth around the sun, the height of eroding
mountains, the distribution of boreal forests, or the abundance of a
particular species. As we shift our attention from the stellar and global to
the regional and local, then the more likely it is that we will encounter
things that change over even short spans of time.
Although musically precocious, Tchaikovsky was educated for a career as a civil servant. There was scant opportunity for a musical career in Russia at that time, and no system of public music education. When an opportunity for such an education arose, he entered the nascent Saint Petersburg Conservatory, from where he graduated in 1865. The formal Western-oriented teaching he received there set him apart from composers of the contemporary nationalist movement embodied by the Russian composers of The Five, with whom his...

BJP’s jinx with IT
With every election season comes a set of paradoxes that make an interesting subject of discussion for columnists, political experts and of course the curious citizens. The 2004 elections were marked by one such great paradox: BJP’s ‘India Shining’ campaign – an aggressive campaign that was to embody the feeling of economic optimism in India riding high on the success of IT boom.
Design is a process of generating a description of a set of methods that satisfy all requirements. Generally speaking, a design process model consists of the following four major activities: analysis of a problem, conceptual design, embodiment design, and detailing design. Among these, the conceptual design stage is considered a higher level design phase, which requires more creativity, imagination, intuition, and knowledge than detail design stages. Conceptual
Expert Systems are computer systems which embody some of the experience
and specialised knowledge of an expert and thereby mimic the expert and act as
a consultant in a particular area. Knowledge is often represented in an Expert
System in a knowledge base, which is a network of interconnected rules which
represent the human expertise.
What is the nature of Nature? Is it harmonious and graceful? Is it divine and
providential? Is it cruel and wild? These days, answers to the question 'What is the
nature of Nature?' often reverberate with claims of natural unity: every living thing in
nature, and this includes humanity, is united.
The unity of nature idea appears in many different forms; in the speeches of
environmentally conscious politicians, in the academic writings of scientists, in the
sermons of theological leaders, and in the slogans of social activists.
This book examines the coherent international tax regime that is embodied both in
the tax treaty network and in domestic laws, and the way it forms a significant part of
international law, both treaty-based and customary. The practical implication is that
countries are not free to adopt any international tax rules they please, but rather operate
in the context of the regime, which changes in the same ways international law changes
