The author build and use the vector autoregressive model (VAR) to discover factors affecting the gold price in Vietnam and the impact of each factor. Data research used in this study were monthly data for the period December 2000 to December 2019, including 10 variables. The results show that the current gold price in Vietnam is mostly affected by its historical prices, and is also affected by four other factors: world gold price, investors’ expectations, foreign exchange rate, and M2 money supply.

The study examines herding behavior in Vietnam stock market at sectorial level under different market conditions. The study employs the cross-sectional absolute deviation (CSAD) method developed by Chang, Cheng and Khorana (2000). The data contains daily 135 stock prices divided into 20 industries from 02nd Jan/2007 to 31st Dec/2017.

Onion is very important in cookery; hence it is called the “Queen of kitchen. The onions are regarded as a highly export oriented crop and earn valuable foreign exchange for the country. The study had made an attempt to study the export trend and domestic behavior. The study has been undertaken ontime series data framework using secondary data to find the direction of weekly prices. It can be inferred that the export quantity increased from 4.17 % in period 1987- 1999to 6.90% during period 2000-2019. The export value also depicts a rise from 13.25% during period 1987-1999 to 14.

This paper examines the effect of target Federal funds rate changes on major five foreign exchange markets: Canada, Australia, Euro, Japan and the UK during the period from 2000 to 2007. Two different approaches of Rai, Seth and Mohanty (2007) and the event study of Brown and Warner (1980, 1985) are used in our paper. The results show that event-study method yields a stronger relationship between the U.S. Federal funds rate and exchange rates. On average, evidences are consistent with our expectations: federal funds rate increases (decreases) are associated with the U.S.

In this study, the similar tests are realized on the data set consisting of the daily forward quotations of both of the group of currencies in a broader time period beginning in 2000 ending in November 2012. The results of the study are not supportive for both of the previous studies and revealed the fact that there exist no considerable differences between the biasedness of the forward rates of the currencies of the developing and developed countries.

In this paper, the effects of the US stock market returns, exchange rate changes and volatilities on stock market volatilities in 10 emerging market economies between 2000- 2013 (also two sub-periods covering the time between 2000-2007, and between 2008-2013) have been analysed with separate 30 VAR models. According to the analysis, the fact that the US stock market returns cause stock market volatilities is revealed to be the most prominent result in the whole period.

This paper reexamines the degree of exchange rate pass-through (henceforth ERPT) in-1apanesecexports=totheUnited~States and Asian countries by using the destination breakdown data of 300 export commodities at the HS 9-digit level. By conducting the fixed effect panel estimation, we have found that ERPT has increased in Japanese exports to all destinations, even to the United States, at the HS 4-digit commodity level, which contrasts markedly with the Taylor's (2000) conjecture that ERPT declined in the low inflation environment.

Canada and Greenland both hunt harp seals from the same population (the northwest Atlantic stock). The Canadian and Greenland governments have been exchanging information on their respective hunts and have agreed to continue such exchanges with the intent of verifying harvest activities and strengthening conservation. Discussions are also underway with Greenland scientists on a possible joint Satellite tagging program to better define seal movements and stock boundaries. The annual catch of harp seals in Greenland has been increasing in recent years to about 80,000 animals.

There is a major problem in writing this book. To tell the story fairly, a very large number of complexities must be explained. For example, Chapter 2 discusses Enron’s Year 2000 Annual Report. It is difficult to study that report and conclude that the firm is heading toward collapse. On the other hand, it is not difficult to identify footnotes that are vague and incomplete (of course, the author also has the benefit of hindsight). Why write a casebook describing and evaluating events about which there have been criminal trials and extensive hearings?...

We focus on the dynamics of active management skills, and how an investor might optimally choose active funds during varying business conditions. Building on studies such as Avramov and Wermers (2006) and Moskowitz (2000), we allow for the possibility of time-varying mutual fund alphas and betas among active managers in Europe. Following Christopherson, et al. (1998) and Ferson and Schadt (1996), we model such time-variation using a publicly available set of conditioning state variables.

We analyze a sample of 159 U.S. public companies that restated their earnings in the years 2000 or 2001 and an industry-size matched control sample of 159 nonrestating firms. We have assembled a unique, handcollected data set that contains detailed information on the corporate governance characteristics of these 318 firms. Our sample includes restatements by prominent firms such as Abbott Laboratories, Adelphia, Enron, Gateway, Kroger, Lucent, Rite-Aid, Tyco, and Xerox.
