  • The Theory of the Design of Experiments là cuốn sách đề cập tới sự hạ thấp tỉ lệ giới tính người khi sinh ra. Đây là một tài liệu nghiên cứu rất tỉ mỉ về giới tính-một vấn đề đang gây sự chú ý của rất nhiều các nhà dân số học trên thế giới. Why study the theory of experiment design? Although it can be useful to know about special designs for specific purposes, experience suggests that a particular design can rarely be used directly. It needs adaptation to accommodate the circumstances of the experiment.

  • Details of partnering are given in Section 1.9. There are two types: ‘term (or full) partnering’ which covers an intention to carry out a series of projects together or for a given period; and ‘project-specific partnering’, i.e. co-operation for one job at a time. Normally a promoter negotiates a partnering agreement with his consultant (if he employs one) and a contractor of his own choosing, usually because of past satisfactory experience of working with him.

  • We investigate the controversial issue about the upper bound of interjudge agreement in the use of a low-level grammatical representation. Pessimistic views suggest that several percent of words in running text are undecidable in terms of part-of-speech categories. Our experiments with 55kW data give reason for optimism: linguists with only 30 hours' training apply the EngCG-2 morphological tags with almost 100% interjudge agreement.

  • The small world experiment comprised several experiments conducted by Stanley Milgram and other researchers examining the average path length for social networks of people in the United States. The research was groundbreaking in that it suggested that human society is a small world type network characterized by short path lengths. The experiments are often associated with the phrase "six degrees of separation", although Milgram did not use this term himself.

We have removed oversights and errors; we have made a few additions and expanded a little on all chapters; we have re-written and simplified various parts which students had found obscure or difficult to understand; lastly, we have updated the bibliography, with the aim of offering useful suggestions for further readi...

However, they are the consistent application of a monetary ideology entirely approved by contemporary public opinion and espoused by the policies of almost all governments. However, daily deaths of children as a result of hunger, disease and malnutrition on a massive scale in Africa, and elsewhere, is not fiction....

  • The suggested guidelines in this manual have been developed from a number of sources, and most are applicable to a wide range of mass public gatherings. These sources focused on youth audiences attending large rock concerts and competitive sporting events because of the difficulties and major incidents historically associated with such events. Many of the guidelines derived from such experiences are applicable to a broad range of other events that present their own challenges. Certain types of events have an inherent capacity for special management problems.

  • A researcher may be under the illusion that his research will sell itself more or less automatically. On the contrary, it is the duty of an author to write an article so that an outsider can understand the main points and the reasoning logic with relative ease. Your article competes against other submitted article proposals. The decision on acceptance is not done based only on the article substance, but the readability of the article also matters. Consequently, an article must have a clear and logical structure combined with fluent story-telling.

  • We examine whether the predictability of future returns from past returns is due to the market's underreaction to information, in particular to past earnings news. Past return and past earnings surprise each predict large drifts in future returns after controlling for the other. Market risk, size, and book-to-market effects do not explain the drifts. There is little evidence of subsequent reversals in the returns of stocks with high price and earnings momentum.

  • CO2 injection has recently been shown to provide significant enhanced oil recovery from naturally fractured reservoirs1. Li et al. (2000) performed CO2 injection at 1750 psig on artificially-fractured cores after water flooding in a dead-oil system. Gravity drainage was suggested to be the dominant recovery mechanism in these tests, with significant tertiary oil recovery after water flooding. The authors observed that the recovery of initial oil at the start of the CO2 injection declined as the rock permeability decreased and the initial water saturation increased....

Some Member States apply a so- called 'strict' liability regime, where the depositary has an immediate obligation to return the lost asset to the UCITS, while others take the view that the loss of assets does not always imply an unjustifiable failure to perform its duties on the part of the depositary that should lead to liability for that depositary. As a consequence, the liability standard is not the same in all Member States. ...
