We present B EETLE II, a tutorial dialogue system designed to accept unrestricted language input and support experimentation with different tutorial planning and dialogue strategies. Our ﬁrst system evaluation used two different tutorial policies and demonstrated that the system can be successfully used to study the impact of different approaches to tutoring. In the future, the system can also be used to experiment with a variety of natural language interpretation and generation techniques.

Originally, it was planned that there would be equal numbers of males and females and an equal
number of students from the four faculties with the highest percentage of NESB students. However, as
noted above, the opportunity to sit a free IELTS Test proved to be much more attractive to some
students from some faculties than to others. There was no interest from students enrolled in the
Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, and a great deal of interest from students enrolled in the
Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Health.
As currently taught, the introductory course in analytical chemistry emphasizes
quantitative (and sometimes qualitative) methods of analysis coupled with a heavy
dose of equilibrium chemistry. Analytical chemistry, however, is more than equilib-
rium chemistry and a collection of analytical methods; it is an approach to solving
chemical problems. Although discussing different methods is important, that dis-
cussion should not come at the expense of other equally important topics.
Immediately after the first drafts of the human genome sequence were reported almost
a decade ago, the importance of genomics and functional genomics studies became
well recognized across the broad disciplines of biological sciences research.
An ideal way to run this experiment would be to run all the 4x3=12
wafers in the same furnace run. That would eliminate the nuisance
furnace factor completely. However, regular production wafers have
furnace priority, and only a few experimental wafers are allowed into
any furnace run at the same time.
A non-blocked way to run this experiment would be to run each of the
twelve experimental wafers, in random order, one per furnace run.
