The Committee on Gravitational Physics (CGP) was organized by the National
Research Council’s (NRC’s) Board on Physics and Astronomy (BPA) as

This paper focuses on the exploration of term dependence in the application of sentence retrieval. The adjacent terms appearing in query are assumed to be related with each other. These assumed dependences among query terms will be further validated for each sentence and sentences, which present strong syntactic relationship among query terms, are considered more relevant. In this paper, we explore correlation of dependency relation paths to rank candidate answers in answer extraction. Using the correlation measure, we compare dependency relations of a candidate answer and mapped question phrases in sentence with the corresponding relations in question. Different from previous studies, we propose an approximate phrase mapping algorithm and incorporate the mapping score into the correlation measure. The correlations are further incorporated into a Maximum Entropy-based ranking model which estimates path weights from training.
Analog Behavioral Modeling With The Verilog-A Language provides the IC designer with an introduction to the methodologies and uses of analog behavioral modeling with the Verilog-A language. In doing so, an overview of Verilog-A language constructs as well as applications using the language are presented. We utilize a longitudinal survey of registrants for the Graduate Management Admissions Test
(GMAT) to estimate the economic returns to an MBA. The GMAT exam, an admissions requirement
for most MBA programs, is similar to the SAT for undergraduates without the competition from
the ACT. The survey, sponsored by the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), was
administered in four waves, beginning in 1990 and ending in 1998.

In many respects, the science of materials has only fully utilized two of its three
fundamental tools —the variables of temperature and chemical composition. Pressure,
the third fundamental variable altering materials, is in many ways the most remarkable,

Abstract Resistance to conventional anticancer therapies in patients with advanced solid tumors has prompted the need of alternative cancer therapies. Moreover, the success of novel cancer therapies depends on their selectivity for cancer cells with limited toxicity to normal tissues. Several decades after Coley's work a variety of natural and genetically modified non-pathogenic bacterial species are being explored as potential antitumor agents, either to provide direct tumoricidal effects or to deliver tumoricidal molecules.
Medical imaging has been transformed over the past 30 years by the advent
of computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and
various advances in x-ray and ultrasonic techniques. An enabling force behind
this progress has been the (so far) exponentially increasing power of
computers, which has made it practical to explore fundamentally new approaches.
Having thus explored the statistical relationships between the D-P and the Structural
typologies it is concluded that:
(a) The Structural Typology provides slightly greater discrimination between regions in terms
of their socio-economic performance (as reflected in the five indicators incorporated in the A-
D index) than the D-P typology. Although we cannot claim to have proved so conclusively,
this seems to suggest that sectoral structure is a more influential determinant of regional
performance than is degree of rurality or accessibility.
These studies suggest there is a complex interrelationship between students’ attitudes
towards interacting with other students, their personalities, their learning styles and
the communication technologies provided by institutions. A critical implication for
this study is that low levels of student interaction on asynchronous discussion forums
may not necessarily indicate student disinterest in interacting with other students, but

series production only. It simply takes a lot of time and is therefore costly to
manufacture a large number of microstructures by laser ablation or wire erosion

Abstract: Industry standard for the control of switch mode power supply (SMPS) systems has been analog control. Now with the advent of high speed, lower cost digital signal processing (DSP) ICs, digital control there has been an increased interest in digital control of SMPS. The Power Electronics & Power Quality Laboratory of Texas A&M University is currently exploring several implementation aspects of digital control of power factor correction (PFC) stage of SMPS. Two low cost digital controllers: TMS320LF2407 and ST52x420 are evaluated for implementing PFC function.
As currently taught, the introductory course in analytical chemistry emphasizes
quantitative (and sometimes qualitative) methods of analysis coupled with a heavy
dose of equilibrium chemistry. Analytical chemistry, however, is more than equilib-
rium chemistry and a collection of analytical methods; it is an approach to solving
