Tuyển tập các báo cáo nghiên cứu về y học được đăng trên tạp chí y học Critical Care giúp cho các bạn có thêm kiến thức về ngành y học đề tài: Bench-to-bedside review: Angiopoietin signalling in critical illness – a future target?
Accurate statistics on cancer occurrence and outcome are essential both for the purposes of
research and for planning and evaluation programmes for cancer control (Parkin, 2006).
Although tumours of thyroid account for only 1% of the overall human cancer burden, they
represent the most common malignancies of the endocrine system and pose a significant
challenge to pathologists, surgeons and endocrinologists. Among epithelial tumors,
carcinomas of follicular cell origin far outnumber those of C-cell origin.
This requires, firstly, clarity as to what the target means and secondly, an understanding of how this might
What is a society with an enterprise culture? It can be a society in which the potential for individuals and
groups to start a business is maximised. More broadly it can be a society in which individuals in all kinds
of organisations and in all aspects of life behave in an entrepreneurial manner.
Assemble focus groups of patrons and potential
patrons to discuss the library’s Web gateway.
Since information searching can vary widely, you’ll
want to schedule targeted focus groups based on
market segment (e.g. parents with young children,
young adults, seniors, etc.). Send invitations and
follow up by phone until you’ve confirmed at least
a dozen people. Have your discussion questions
ready (broad, open-ended questions such as
“What kinds of questions do you use the Internet
to answer?”) and be prepared to demonstrate the
gateway and its resources.
Project: Support to development of the National Strategy on Environmentally Sustainable Transport Implemented by: Institute of Strategy, Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (ISOPNRE), MONRE and Department of Environment (DOE), Ministry of Transport (MOT) Support: United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) Started in 2006 Now: the final (4th) Draft of the Strategy The EST’s objectives and targets were intergrated
This study’s emphasis on mid-sized poultry processors emerged from a
larger, national study examining the plight of similar sized agricultural
operations in the U.S., past, present and future.
Since 2003, a task force of academics, agricultural extension workers
and others has focused on studying a sector of agriculture in the U.S.
referred to as ‘Agriculture of the Middle’. This sector comprises a
group of businesses owned by farmers, ranchers, processors and other
For the company to achieve future financial goals, through the annual financial statements is expected to predict future growth and capital needs of the situation 。
Can be roughly divided into the most optimistic, most pessimistic and normal, etc.
Financial planning should be to make a prediction for the future, and based on certain assumptions.
Taxes matter! Nobody seriously doubts this. Yet many finance textbooks keep
entirely quiet about tax issues. It is well-known that investors and enterprises strive
to maximize their income net of taxes, yet business schools rarely teach their stu-
dents how tax effects impact business decisions. Ignoring tax effects will typically
lead to investor decisions that are wrong froma real world perspective.
In September 2006, as a result of advocacy by international and national non-governmental
organisations (NGOs), the United Nations (UN) General Assembly finally adopted the target of
universal access to reproductive health. This health key issues guide explores issues relating to
universal access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services using a rights-based
approach. The guide examines factors that inhibit access to and use of SRH services, and
discusses methods for removing barriers to care and improving access.
Presence of epigenetic marks enables cells with the same genotype have potential to
display different phenotypes and differentiate into many cell-types with different
functions, and responses to environmental and intercellular signaling. For example,
DNA methylation is essential for the process of imprinting. Imprinted genes are
expressed from only one parental allele. This mono-allelic gene expression is directed
by epigenetic marks established in the mammalian germ line and a single mutation,
either genetic or epigenetic, can cause disease.
Challenges to sustaining the productivity of oceanic and coastal fisheries
have become more critical and complex as these fisheries reach the upper
limits to ocean harvests. In addition, it is now clear that we are managing
interactive and dynamic food webs rather than sets of independent single-species
Although there is plenty of literature on destination planning and development of facilities (Inskeep,
1991 and 1994; Pearce, 1989; Gunn, 1994; Davidson and Maitland, 1997), there are few textbooks
examining destination marketing (Heath and Wall, 1992; Goodall and Ashworth, 1988) and even
fewer illustrate destinations as an experience-provider for tourists and locals (Ryan, 1997 and 1991a).
This is also reflected in the academic literature published in journals and other scientific publications.
Later elaborations on the mechanisms of repression versus dissociation posited that
they corresponded to various views of the self-one that is vertically organized (such as in the
case of repression) versus one that is horizontally aligned, with areas of incompatibility
separated by dissociation (Mitchell & Black, 1995). Many of Janet’s ideas presented above
received corroboration later from both clinical observations and neurobiological
investigations and have subsequently been incorporated in contemporaneous pathogenetic
models of dissociative disorders.
The current arrangements for local audit, whereby a single organisation - the Audit Commission - is the regulator, commissioner and provider of local audit services are inefficient and unnecessarily centralised. The Audit Commission has increased the professionalism and the quality of local government audit, but, it has also become too focused on reporting to central Government and supporting the previous era of a target driven Government.
Others are more avowedly ‘political’ or polemical in intent. The ‘artistic’
and the ‘political’ are far from separate categories, however. Formal
experiment and departure from dominant conventions is, potentially, a
major resource for the deconstruction of dominant ideologies.
Balanced and coordinated advances within these research areas will pave
the way to meeting the 2020 vision target of a fivefold increase in renewable
resource use. Figures 11A to 11D detail goals for these priority research areas.
Cost of materials surfaced many times as a major issue during the steering
group’s investigations. Lowering unit costs is critical for sustainable economic
hydrophobic compounds and thereby act as lipophilic antioxidants preventing
polyunsaturated fatty acids from oxidative damages. In fact, carotenoids are incorporated
into lipid membranes and thus could act as chain-breaking antioxidants by stopping free
radical chain reactions (propagation of lipid peroxidation), scavenging lipid peroxyl radicals
(LOO•), avoiding the abstraction of allylic hydrogens from neighboring lipids. Inactivation
of lipoxygenase activity by carotenoids is also proposed as another mechanism of protection
against oxidative stress.
This book will be of interest to anyone interested in the application of Tissue
Engineering. It offers a wide range of topics, including the use of stem cells and adult
stem cells, their applications and the development of a tailored biomaterial,
highlighting the importance of cell-biomaterial interaction. It offers insights into a wide variety of cells and biomaterials, explaining the groundwork required to open
the avenue to the next generation biotechnology, which is Tissue Engineering.
I would like to express my
deepest gratitude to all theauthors who contributed to this book by sharing their
valuable works with us. This book should prove useful to students, researchers, and
experts in the area of conservation biology, genetic diversity, and molecular biology.
The year 2010 was celebrated as the international year of biodiversity by the United
Nations and it has been a unique opportunity to realize the vital role that biodiversity
plays in sustaining the life on Earth.
