Text mining and data harvesting algorithms have become popular in the computational linguistics community. They employ patterns that specify the kind of information to be harvested, and usually bootstrap either the pattern learning or the term harvesting process (or both) in a recursive cycle, using data learned in one step to generate more seeds for the next.
This paper proposes a data-driven method for concept-to-text generation, the task of automatically producing textual output from non-linguistic input. A key insight in our approach is to reduce the tasks of content selection (“what to say”) and surface realization (“how to say”) into a common parsing problem.
This paper sketches some basic features of the SYNPHONICS account of the computational modelling of incremental language production with the example of the generation of passive sentences. The SYNPHONICS approach aims at linking psycholinguistic insights into the nature of the human natural language production process with well-established assumptions in theoretical and computational linguistics concerning the representation and processing of grammatical knowledge.

As more data are generated from proteome and transcriptome analyses of
