Or will the Doha Agenda collapse in stalemate and perhaps be viewed as the moment when the international community retreated from multilateralism and opened the floodgates for less desirable bilateral and regional arrangements?...

  • Since the mid 1990s there has been a significant growth in the aggregate size and number of global property funds, largely fuelled by the investment of significant capital from institutional investors. This falls into two broad types: the 'core' universe and the 'opportunity' universe. This growth has seen fund managers launching new funds and raising more capital at a time when many have been unable to show clear evidence that their funds have provided historic out-performance against market benchmarks or performance objectives.

  • In this paper we propose the design of Byzantium, a Byzantine-fault-tolerant database replication middle- ware. Byzantium improves on existing BFT replication for databases both because it has no centralized compo- nents (of whose correctness the integrity of the system depends) and by allowing increased concurrency, which is essential to achieve good performance. The main insight behind our approach is to aim for weaker semantics than traditional BFT replication approaches.

  • For many companies, social media use is still viewed as an experiment, where discrete projects are launched, usually by a few individuals in marketing or communications. Some said they limit their activities because they are in a “test” mode and lack resources to do more. Others said the organizations are wary because they perceive dangers in exposure and lack of control of the conversation on the Web. “Social media is a big ocean and we are pulling in a little bay where we are more protected,” said a global partner in a health and benefits consulting company.

  • In summarization, sentence ordering is conducted to enhance summary readability by accommodating text coherence. We propose a grouping-based ordering framework that integrates local and global coherence concerns. Summary sentences are grouped before ordering is applied on two levels: group-level and sentence-level. Different algorithms for grouping and ordering are discussed. The preliminary results on single-document news datasets demonstrate the advantage of our method over a widely accepted method. ...

The role sequence is divided into intervals based on the notion of primary roles, and each interval generates a sequence of secondary roles and syntactic constituents using local features.
