The structural, morphological and optical properties of CBD deposited CdS thin films have been studied by varying the processing parameters and the Cd/S ratio of the starting precursors in order to better understand the growth conditions. The films were characterized by Xray diffraction, SEM, Raman, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. XRD patterns show that asdeposited CdS films were polycrystalline. The grain size are increasing with increasing the Cd/S ratio and/or the deposition time.

An increase in the price of a supply-substitute reduces the supply of a good (by making
the alternative good more attractive to suppliers), and similarly, a decrease in the price
of a supply complement reduces the supply of a good. By making the by-product less
valuable, the returns to investing in a good are reduced. Thus, an increase in the price
of DVD-R discs (used for recording DVDs) discourages investment in the manufacture
of CD-Rs, which are a substitute in supply, leading to a decrease in the supply of CD-Rs.
This tends to increase the price of...
Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis are chronic inflammatory intestinal
disorders affecting 1.7 million people in North America.
Recent studies have shown
an increasing incidence of CD in children, and an overall prevalence of 10% to 25%
of all patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
CD is characterized by patchy
transmural inflammation involving any segment of the gastrointestinal tract from
the mouth to the anus.
The role of macrophage apoptosis in containing the growth ofthe bacilli is also discussed. The role of other components of innate immune response such asnatural resistance associated macrophage protein (Nramp), neutrophils, and natural killer cellshas been discussed. The specific acquired immune response through CD4 T cells, mainlyresponsible for protective Th1 cytokines and through CD8 cells bringing about cytotoxicity, also has been described.
The additional material includes a new Background section, intended
to provide a broad overview of breast cancer for non-clinicians; a
new Topic 1, Primary care and the management of women at high
risk; and a new Topic 8, Management of advanced, recurrent and
metastatic disease. The topic areas and numbers therefore differ from
the original Manual.
Material in the Evidence sections of the topic areas is based on
systematic reviews of research evidence carried out by the NHS
Centre for Reviews and Dissemination.
