The field of color imaging deals with the capture, processing, communication,
and reproduction of color images. The origins of color imaging can be
traced back to prehistoric times when cave dwellers created the first color
drawings depicting events in their lives, using primitive materials and techniques
available to them. Since then, color images have played an important
role in history, and color imaging has advanced hand in hand with progress
in science and technology. In the past 10 to 15 years, this field, like many
others, has been significantly transformed by the digital revolution.
Dithering, also called Halftoning or Color Reduction, is the process of rendering an image on a display device with fewer colors than are in the image. Digital Image Processing: Some Special Techniques Dithering presents about it.
As technology progresses and as more and more personal data is digitized, there is even more of an emphasis required
on data security today than there has ever been. Protecting this data in a safe and secure way which does not impede the
access of an authorized authority is an immensely difficult and very interesting research problem. Many attempts have
been made to solve this problem within the cryptographic community.
In this book, we present one of these data security methods known as visual cryptography (VC).
