Renowned businessman, political figure and philanthropist, Thomas J. Watson, Jr. once said, “I believe the real difference between success and failure in a corporation can be very often traced to the question of how well the organization brings out the great energies and talents of its people.”
This quote is a perfect illustration of how important employee development is to organizations’ success. A company may hire the smartest or best-fit employees, but if those employees aren’t developed or given opportunities to grow, the company isn’t reaching maximum success....
The OFD in collaboration with our Advisory Committee and Department/Division Chiefs created the framework
for the “Community of Mentors” at Boston Children’s. The effort begins with an appointed mentor at the division or department level, and guides mentees to create their own mentor team with the support and advice of their own division or department senior faculty. The OFD helps faculty assess their needs and facilitate
The Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) was designed to ensure that students in Texas obtain
the reading, math, and writing skills necessary to take on college-level work. The test portion of the
program is administered and developed by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
and National Evaluation Systems, Inc. (NES). It was created to help educators identify students who may need
remedial help before pursuing higher-education courses.
Purpose – The Encyclopedia of Operations Management (EOM) is an ideal “field manual” for students, instructors,
and practicing managers. For students, the EOM is a useful guide for developing an integrated mental map for the
entire field of supply chain and operations management. It has also proven useful as a reference for students
preparing for case discussions, exams, and job interviews. It is particularly helpful for students new to supply chain
and operations management and for international students who need precise definitions of specialized terms.

Assessing the Patient's Readiness to Change An attempt to initiate lifestyle changes when the patient is not ready usually leads to frustration and may hamper future weight-loss efforts. Assessment includes patient motivation and support, stressful life events, psychiatric status, time availability and constraints, and appropriateness of goals and expectations. Readiness can be viewed as the balance of two opposing forces: (1) motivation, or the patient's desire to change; and (2) resistance, or the patient's resistance to change.
The objective of this training is to help students understanding of Vietnam the Australian researchers identify and solve problems in forestry research, especially in plantation management. The diversity of bird species is of special importance as it can create responsive and adaptive behaviours among the whole animal population in wild environment. For this reason, the frequent making of inventory lists of bird species helps assess and evaluate the current status of forest resources in natural conservation areas which are inherently under human pressures in our country. During the two years (2009 - 2010) of the study conducted in Huu Lien Nature Reserve in Lang Son province, records have been made of 168 bird species belonging to 117 genus, 54 families, 17 orders.
ADHC is a community-based health and long term care service aimed at elders or adults who are disabled
enough to be in a nursing home or at risk of nursing home placement. When coordinated with other health
center services, particularly primary care clinic services, ADHC can be critical in allowing elders to avoid
nursing home placement and helping informal caregivers to continue providing care over an extended period.
Participants live at home and are brought into the center from 3 to 5 days a week.
Writing a second edition is a first for me, and therefore to maintain proximity to the
subject matter I recruited the help of my younger brother, whom I thank dearly. This
second edition comes after five years and contains many necessary additions, deletions
and refinements. However, the text remains succinct and true to its original objectives
with an emphasis on aiding memory.
During this period the MRCPsych examination has altered considerably and will no
doubt evolve further.

The paper also outlines a number of principles for use by supervisory authorities
when evaluating banks' interest rate risk management. This paper strongly endorses the
principle that banks’ internal measurement systems should, wherever possible, form the
foundation of the supervisory authorities’ measurement of and response to the level of
interest rate risk.
After the state identified a nutrient problem (nitrogen and phosphorous) in
the basin, it recommended a strategy to limit nutrient discharges from a
group of point source dischargers. Subsequently, some of the dischargers
formed an association and proposed an alternative strategy that included
pollutant trading. The strategy, approved by the state, contains a total,
allowable discharge level for the association that, in turn, allocates
individual discharge limits among its members. If ...
Military family support programs have proliferated in recent years, but there has been little evaluation of whether these programs are meeting their key objectives. To help fill this gap, a RAND study explored the curriculum, themes, and outcomes of Operation Purple, a free weeklong summer camp program for youth with a deployed parent.
To solve these problems, the SEQ and PREDATOR systems introduce a spe-
cial sublanguage, called SEQUINfor queries on sequences [Seshadri et al. 1994,
1995; Seshadri 1998]. SEQUIN works on sequences in combination with SQL
working on standard relations; query blocks from the two languages can be
nested inside each other, with the help of directives for converting data be-
tween the blocks.
Fine-grained sense distinctions are one of the major obstacles to successful Word Sense Disambiguation. In this paper, we present a method for reducing the granularity of the WordNet sense inventory based on the mapping to a manually crafted dictionary encoding sense hierarchies, namely the Oxford Dictionary of English. We assess the quality of the mapping and the induced clustering, and evaluate the performance of coarse WSD systems in the Senseval-3 English all-words task.
Maybe you got your new prescription a while ago. Now, you vaguely
recall hearing something about harmful interactions. It’s never too late
to drop in at your pharmacy or to call your doctor’s office. In fact, asking
for a check-up of everything you take is the most effective action to help
avoid dangerous interactions. You may need to ask for this medicine
interaction check-up, but it’s your right to get one. You can also begin an interaction search on your own. Read about cau-
tions for your drugs. Use an online interaction checker. Take the results
to your pharmacist or...
