An increasing number of small nucleolar RNA host genes (SNHGs) have been revealed to be dysregulated in lung cancer tissues, and abnormal expression of SNHGs is significantly correlated with the prognosis of lung cancer. The purpose of this study was to conduct a meta-analysis to explore the correlation between the expression level of SNHGs and the prognosis of lung cancer.

This report presents an analytical approach to the natural frequency analysis of a porous beam consisting of a host porous layer reinforced with graphene platelets (GPLs), namely GPL-reinforced porous core, and two piezoelectric outer layers. In the modelling, symmetric distributions of both porosity and GPLs in the core are supposed.

In the modelling, symmetric distributions of both porosity and GPLs in the core are supposed. The effective mechanical properties of the GPL-reinforced porous core are estimated by Halpin–Tsai model and the rule of mixture.

The single-orbital Anderson impurity model using graphene as the host material is considered for the case where the impurity is placed on top of a carbon atom of the graphene lattice. This is an excellent setup for the r = 1 pseudogap impurity model, where there exists a quantum phase transition from the free local moment phase to the Kondo screening phase.

In free-ranging reptile populations, bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic pathogens may affect hosts through impairment in movements, thermoregulation, reproduction, survival, and population dynamics. The speckled dwarf tortoise (Chersobius [Homopus] signatus) is a threatened species that is mostly restricted to the Succulent Karoo biome in South Africa, and little information on pathogens of this species is available yet.

Erwinia amylovora is generally considered to be a homogeneous species in terms of phenotypic and genetic features. However, strains show variation in their virulence, particularly on hosts with different susceptibility to fire blight. We applied the RNA-seq technique to elucidate transcriptome-level changes of the lowly virulent E. amylovora 650 strain during infection of shoots of susceptible (Idared) and resistant (Free Redstar) apple cultivars.

Thiazolidinone derivatives show inhibitory activity (IC50) against the Toxoplasma gondii parasite, as well as high selectivity with high therapeutic index. To disclose the target proteins of the thiazolidinone core in this parasite, we explored in silico the active sites of different T. gondii proteins and estimated the binding-free energy of reported thiazolidinone molecules with inhibitory effect on invasion and replication of the parasite inside host cells.

Seisonidea (also Seisonacea or Seisonidae) is a group of small animals living on marine crustaceans (Nebalia spec.) with only four species described so far. Its monophyletic origin with mostly free-living wheel animals (Monogononta, Bdelloidea) and endoparasitic thorny-headed worms (Acanthocephala) is widely accepted.

Phytopathogens secreted effectors during host colonization to suppress or trigger plant immunity. Identification of new effectors is one of the research focuses in recent years. There is only a limited knowledge about effectors of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Cubense tropical race 4 (Foc TR4), the causal agent of wilt disease in Cavendish banana.

Members of the bacterial family Flavobacteriaceae are widely distributed in the marine environment and often found associated with algae, fish, detritus or marine invertebrates. Yet, little is known about the characteristics that drive their ubiquity in diverse ecological niches.

In the present work, Co impurities were introduced to host NBTO materials through the sol-gel method. Results demonstrated the reduction in the optical band gap of pure and Co-doped NBTO, and that the observed room temperature ferromagnetism in Co-doped NBTO materials originates as an intrinsic phenomenon.

Lead-free ferroelectric Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 materials integrated ferromagnetism and photoluminescence at room temperature. Fe and Sm cations were used as the magnetic and photoluminescence sources for the co-modified host Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 materials. The (Fe, Sm)-modified Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 materials were fabricated by using the sol-gel method. The structure of the samples was studied through X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering, which indicated that a single perovskite structure was successful fabricated.

The incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is expected to increase by 80% in year 2035. Even though advantages in treatment of CRC have being made over the last decades, the outcome remains poor. Recently, several inflammatory markers including pretreatment neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), have being used as prognostic factors, since host inflammatory response to cancer is believed to determine disease progression.

Azotobacter is an aerobic, free living bacteria fixes atmospheric nitrogen in soil besides producing plant growth promoting substance. Eight Azotobacter isolates were isolated and purified from different tasar rearing regions of West Singhbhoom, Jharkhand on Jenson media by using serial dilution technique. Molecular diversity among these isolates was analysed using RAPD primers.

Lignocellulose hydrolysis at temperatures above the optimum temperature of T. reesei cellulases (~50°C) could provide many significant advantages, including reduced viscosity at high-solids loadings, lower risk of microbial contamination during saccharification, greater compatibility with high-temperature biomass pretreatment, and faster rates of hydrolysis.

Throughout the last decades, the global economy has been completely sophisticated. It has evolved in an increasingly more and more complicated context, given the mechanism of free trade, free haw of capital and goods; investment has become important for developing countries. In this respect, it is necessary to study the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the economic growth of the host country, especially in Tunisia.

The sandal spike disease is becoming serious threat to sandal cultivation in the southern states viz., Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala. The high price of Sandal wood declared by the government of Karnataka and liberalization for the private cultivation of Sandal by valid license from the forestry department has encouraged the farmers to go for planting of Sandal on even very fertile soils. A number of Sandal plantations have also come up Karnataka. The disease incidence and prevalence in farmer’s sandal plantations was assessed by using complete enumeration method.

Immigrants suffer problematic cultural identities due to their bicultural allegiances to their host and native cultures. They can not be totally free from their ‘being’, the shared cultural and historical experiences. As a result, they follow their cultural practices of native country even in their diasporic existences. At the same time, they adopt and follow the cultural practices of the host country. In fact, they are living in the cultural third space simultaneously oscillating between two cultures.
