households from the Townsend Thai Monthly Survey. This experience
convinced us that imposing an accounting framework and creating
financial statements would be a useful, indeed a necessary, first step
for the analysis of household finance, especially from high-frequency,
How much does household collateral constrain regional risk sharing? construct a new data set of consumption and income data for the largest U.S. metropolitan areas, and we show that the extent of risk-sharing between regions varies substantially over time. In times when US housing collateral is scarce nationally, regional consumption is about twice as sensitive to income shocks.
Knowing how people travel is essential in formulating any transport master plan, short-term action plan or feasibility study for that matter. One of the best ways of obtaining this data is by conducting a Household Interview Survey (HIS), that is, directly interviewing members of the sample household and asking them about their daily travel routine as well as looking into relevant socio-economic factors.
This paper investigates the relationship between non-farm employment and household income in Hanoi's periurban areas. The findings showed that the vast majority of the sample households participate in non-farm activities and income from these sources mainly contributes to total household income. Factors affecting household income were examined using multiple regression models and the findings confirm the important role of non-farm employment in improving household income.

We know that the structures of families and of households have changed in recent decades and that this has had a profound affect on public policy planning and service delivery in South Africa. The institution of the family interfaces with other social institutions in any society – it therefore stands to reason that the political, social and economic transformations resulting through colonialism and apartheid in South Africa have affected families and their residential dimension, the household, for all cultural groups.
This study is dedicated to all the children of South Africa and to those organisations that work towards alleviating the plight of children in South Africa and worldwide. On behalf of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, I would like to comment on the importance of The National Household HIV Prevalence and Risk Survey of South African Children. The study was commissioned by the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and the Nelson Mandela Foundation as part of the larger Nelson Mandela/HSRC Study of HIV/AIDS 2002.

This volume is part of a multiyear research program on Behavioral Responses
to Taxation that is being conducted under the auspices of the National Bureau
of Economic Research (NBER). This project draws together researchers with
a wide range of interests in tax policy issues. The development and mainte-
nance of the NBER TAXSIM program, a detailed computer algorithm for com-
puting household tax liabilities under actual and various alternative tax re-

Data set weights are used to adjust for sampling and response rates, and to provide estimates of
Wisconsin’s total household population using the sample data. A new procedure for developing data set
weights was used with the 2008 Family Health Survey. The 2008 FHS sample included only landline
telephone numbers, but ever-increasing numbers of people are using only cell phones, with no landline
telephone service. Researchers are learning that the characteristics of cell-phone-only users differ from
characteristics of people who use landline telephones.

Edwards et al (2006) report indoor air quality monitoring in nearly 400 households in the
three provinces of Hubei, Shaanxi, and Zhejiang in 2002-2003. Great care was taken to
select homes that reflect the diversity of fuels and stove technology and stove
performance in China. PM4 concentrations in 75 percent of kitchens and 73 percent of
living rooms during the winter - and 48 percent of kitchens and 46 percent of living
rooms during the summer - exceeded the national indoor air quality PM10 standard of 150
for a 24 hour average. If PM10...

you do need care, you may need

only a short time. Or, you may need
these services for many months, years
or the rest of your life. ...
