The research study was carried out by researchers with investment fund experience in
developing countries. It included a desk study review and assessment to take stock of existing
agriculture investment funds in developing countries in order to better understand their nature,
magnitude, and most of all, the lessons learned from their experiences to date. Based on the
initial work and characterization, more comprehensive case reviews were undertaken of six
distinct types of investment funds and one fund management company.
States from 1991 onwards. Using these monthly data, we document a statisti-
cally significant smart money effect in the United States whose magnitude is
comparable to that of the United Kingdom. However, even at the quarterly data
frequency, the post-1990 period is suggestive of the presence of smart money in
the United States (whereas the 1970 to 1990 period is not). These conclusions
hold irrespective of whether the momentum factor is taken into consideration.
Thus, Sapp and Tiwari’s results are due to the weight they put on the pre-1991
period, and to their use of quarterly data.
ESMA’s focus in 2013 in the investment funds area will be divided between the finalisation of the key elements of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) framework, leading up to the transposition deadline of July 2013, and work in the area of UCITS. This area will also be supplemented by activity with respect to the Regulations on Venture Capital (VC) and Social Entrepreneurship Funds (SEFs).
Equity and fixed income funds play an important role for the impressive Thai mutual fund
growth. With an in depth analysis, we found two major facts. Firstly, Thai mutual fund industry is
concentrated in fixed income mutual funds especially short-term money market funds. Secondly,
approximately 50% of the AUM invested in Thai equity mutual funds are from LTF and RMF or
growth in equity mutual funds is affected by tax incentive.
These handbooks were first published as Reactor Operator Fundamentals Manuals in 1985
for use by DOE category A reactors. The subject areas, subject matter content, and level of
detail of the Reactor Operator Fundamentals Manuals were determined from several sources.
DOE Category A reactor training managers determined which materials should be included, and
served as a primary reference in the initial development phase.
Since the issue of urban poverty cuts at the heart of social policy in the United States, it
is not surprising that ideology plays a substantial role in many of the debates about it. The
hypotheses often reflect ideological, as well as empirical, social science debates. This is
unavoidable. Nonetheless, the focal point of this article is not on ideology but rather on
what may reasonably be claimed to be known about inner-city poverty. Ideology may
well be critical to the decision about what to believe and what policies are to be preferred.
Session handling, credit card transactions, and password recovery are just a few examples of
Web-enabled business logic processes that malicious hackers have abused to compromise major
websites. There are many forms of business logic vulnerabilities commonly exploited by attackers.
These vulnerabilities are routinely overlooked during QA because the process is intended to test
what a piece of code is supposed to do and not what it can be made to do.
At least one member of the audit committee should have significant,
recent and relevant financial experience, for example as an auditor or a
finance director of a listed company. It is highly desirable for this
member to have a professional qualification from one of the professional
accountancy bodies. The need for a degree of financial literacy among
the other members will vary according to the nature of the company, but
experience of corporate financial matters will normally be required.
In project evaluation, there’s a distinction between “outcome evaluation” –
what should we do with the results of the project? – “accountability evaluation”
– has the project team done the job properly? – and “developmental evaluation”
– what can we learn from the project about how to do projects better?
In assessing a project, it’s a good idea to combine assessment of the “product”
– the outcome of the project – with the process of carrying it out.
The way the project is managed and executed is the key to its success. The
involvement of the right people for data capture and decision making is also crucial.
It is necessary to identify and recruit these people at the start of the project and to
define the project organization structure. It is also necessary to establish the
procedures that will be used by the people in the Project Organization Structure to
carry out and control the project work.
It’s often said that the keys to success in telecommunications are
improving customer loyalty and revenue growth while reducing costs;
that the provider who can attract and retain customers, bundle
attractive new services and decrease overall costs will succeed where
others fail. Effectively managing in an increasingly complex network
environment requires technical expertise and a strong focus on
results. Time to market is a critical element in this success, as faster
service deployment increases competitiveness....
Critical care nursing is a complex, challenging area of nursing
practice, where clinical expertise is developed over time
by integrating critical care knowledge, clinical skills, and
caring practices. Finding a textbook that comprehensively
yet succinctly presents essential information about how best
to safely and competently care for critically ill patients and
their families is a challenge for those charged with the education
of new critical care practitioners.
Only statistical inference
with stationary variables provides valid results. In simple words, this is
because if variables are non-stationary then any correlation between the
explanatory and the dependent variable could be due to the trending in
both variables that is caused by a third variable not included in the model.
We tested for the non-stationarity of the variables in our model formally
with the help of Levin, Lin and Chu’s (2002) unit root test for panel data.
To validate a transaction prior to commit, the follow-
ing steps are executed. All replicas other than the pri-
mary have to execute the transaction operations and ver-
ify that the returned results match the results previously
obtained in the coordinator. Given that the transaction
executes in the same snapshot in every replica (as ex-
plained in the BEGIN operation), if the coordinator was
correct, all other correct replicas should obtain the same
results. If the coordinatorwas faulty, the results obtained
by the replicas will not match those sent by the client.
This logic, which is illustrated in Figure 2-8, justifies the conclusion that the only
equilibrium price is the price in which the quantity supplied equals the quantity
demanded. Any other price will tend to rise in a shortage, or fall in a surplus, until
supply and demand are balanced. In Figure 2-8, a surplus arises at any price above the
equilibrium price p*, because the quantity supplied qs is larger than the quantity
demanded qd. The effect of the surplus – leading to sellers with excess inventory –
induces price cutting which is...
This project seeks to describe the barriers and opportunities for young women in the new
economy, and outline how CED can address poverty among young women. We are
attempting to understand which community supports help young women, and how we
could build CED into the current network of community-based organizations they already
ABC receives nearly all its funding directly from the government via legislative
appropriations, and is prohibited by law from airing commercial advertising on domestic
television and radio services (although it does have the capacity to earn additional revenue
via merchandising). Early in its history, ABC was funded by a license fee, though this
was abolished in 1973 when the Labor government argued that the near-universality of
television and radio meant that direct public funding was a more equitable method of
providing revenue (Inglis 2006). In 2008, ABC received $728.
