he specific country cultures are not only different in regard to their health systems, but also in integrating gender aspects in research, policy and practice. The very definitions of health, illness and health related social problems are different. If networks focus on gender specific aspects of health and illness, the necessity for transnational communication is evident.
Elon’s PA program will prepare graduates to think critically and act skillfully to meet
expanding health care needs in local and global communities. Students will immerse
themselves in a curriculum structured around active learning strategies through
collaborative work with Elon’s faculty, scholars and practitioners in the field. Students
will emerge in a little more than two years as graduates prepared to employ the most
current knowledge to care for patients’ physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.
The programme provides active support to French
departments, language centres and French-language
degree programmes, instructor-researchers and
student researchers, to develop teaching and
research about French and in French, about its
partner languages and, lastly, about intercultural
communication in development. Its action is based
on the work of seven networks of researchers, a
didactics collective and vehicles for information
and think-tank sharing.
