The present science book "Application of Solar Energy" is edited by Professor R. D. Rugescu in the series on Solar Power and consists of 7 chapters that begin with the proof of the high thermal efficiency of the gravitational draught through concentrated solar heating. It continues with novel technologies of producing organic fuels through solar heating, new types of photovoltaic cells, long term use of thermal solar power plants, the efficiency of thermal storage and applications in Niger of the Solar power.
The wisdom approach goes beyond thinking. It is about experiencing.
It is about simply “letting things happen.” Letting things happen is
pretty unconventional in the context of project management. After all,
projects are about making things happen, not letting them happen.
For users of image management systems, and especially for the user who
doesn't know what he wants until he sees it, these systems should be
organized in such a way as to support intelligent browsing so that the
user will be satisjed in the shortest amount of time. It is our belief that
intelligent browsing should be mediated by the standard paradigms of
image similarity as well as by an appropriate organization of metadata,
including annotations and self-describing image regions.
Prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) is a proline-specific oligopepti-dase with a reported effect on learning and memory in dif-ferent rat model systems. Using the astroglioma cell line
U343,PEP expression was reduced by an antisense
technique. Measuring different second-messenger concen-trations revealed an inverse correlation between inositol
1,4,5-triphosphate [Ins(1,4,5)P3] concentration and PEP
expression in the generated antisense cell lines. However,no
effect on cAMP generation was observed.
Maryland. Repace (2005) measured outdoor fine particle and carcinogen
concentrations from OTS on the campus of the University of Maryland at
Baltimore. Using controlled experiments, Repace (2005) found that cigarette
smoke RSP concentrations decline approximately inversely with distance
downwind from the point source, whereas cigarette smoke carcinogen
concentrations decline approximately inversely as the square of the distance from
source to receptor.
Fatty acids can stimulate the secretory activity of insulin-producing beta-cells. At elevated concentrations, they can also be toxic to isolated beta-cells. This toxicity varies inversely with the cellular ability to accumulate
neutral lipids in the cytoplasm. To further examine whether cytoprotection
can be achieved by decreasing cytoplasmic levels of free acyl moieties, we
investigated whether palmitate toxicity is also lowered by stimulating its
