This paper shows the results of an experiment in dialogue segmentation. In this experiment, segmentation was done on a level of analysis similar to adjacency pairs. The method of annotation was somewhat novel: volunteers were invited to participate over the Web, and their responses were aggregated using a simple voting method. Though volunteers received a minimum of training, the aggregated responses of the group showed very high agreement with expert opinion.

In this report we present some noncommutative weak and strong laws of large numbers. Two case are considered: a von Neumann algebra with a normal faithful state on it and the algebra of measurable operators with normal faithful trace.
1. Introduction and notations One of the problems occurring in noncommutative probability theory concerns the extension of various results centered around limit theorems to the noncommutative context.
We present U BY, a large-scale lexicalsemantic resource combining a wide range of information from expert-constructed and collaboratively constructed resources for English and German. It currently contains nine resources in two languages: English WordNet, Wiktionary, Wikipedia, FrameNet and VerbNet, German Wikipedia, Wiktionary and GermaNet, and multilingual OmegaWiki modeled according to the LMF standard. For FrameNet, VerbNet and all collaboratively constructed resources, this is done for the ﬁrst time.
We address the problem of learning the mapping between words and their possible pronunciations in terms of sub-word units. Most previous approaches have involved generative modeling of the distribution of pronunciations, usually trained to maximize likelihood. We propose a discriminative, feature-rich approach using large-margin learning. This approach allows us to optimize an objective closely related to a discriminative task, to incorporate a large number of complex features, and still do inference efﬁciently. ...

The structure of the Italian banking system at the beginning of the 1990s can be traced
back to the regulations introduced after the Great Depression, most importantly the forma-
tion of the IRI (Instituto per la Ricostruzione industriale), which was a public holding

Resolving coordination ambiguity is a classic hard problem. This paper looks at coordination disambiguation in complex noun phrases (NPs). Parsers trained on the Penn Treebank are reporting impressive numbers these days, but they don’t do very well on this problem (79%). We explore systems trained using three types of corpora: (1) annotated (e.g. the Penn Treebank), (2) bitexts (e.g. Europarl), and (3) unannotated monolingual (e.g. Google N-grams). Conditional Random Fields (CRFs) are a widely-used approach for supervised sequence labelling, notably due to their ability to handle large description spaces and to integrate structural dependency between labels. Even for the simple linearchain model, taking structure into account implies a number of parameters and a computational effort that grows quadratically with the cardinality of the label set. In this paper, we address the issue of training very large CRFs, containing up to hundreds output labels and several billion features.
