  • The key driver of the Financial Crisis of 2007–2008 is the interplay of the following six forces, each of which can be linked to the misperception, misunderstanding, and the active hiding of the risks of consequential but low probability events (“Black Swans”) by those that stood to benefit from the obscuring of consequential risk. Other diagnoses, for example those of the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, focus more on epiphenomenal aspects of the crisis such as excessive borrowing, risky investments, opacity of markets, or failures of corporate governance.

Apart from the minimum reserve balances, current accounts with the Deutsche Bundesbank do not bear interest and are run on a credit basis only. In accordance with the cover principle laid down in the BBankG, payment orders are only executed if sufficient cover is available.

  • Although women are a minority in national prison populations all over the world, the female prison population is increasing. This increase in women’s imprisonment is part of a global trend towards the increasing popularity and use of imprisonment and a corresponding under- use of constructive alternative, non-custodial sanctions. This applies particularly to drug offences and non-violent theft (Penal Reform International, 2007).

In certain regions, women's time input equals men's, but in other regions traditions restrict their work to the household where they are involved in crop processing (threshing, cleaning, drying, preserving) and also are in charge of most of the household-based activities (water and fuel collection, cooking, cleaning, sewing, tailoring, weaving, and child rearing). Women play an increasingly important role in opium production, livestock production and processing of dairy products.

The analysis was top-down, as the information used enabled a sufficiently precise estimate to be made for the whole of the banking system, but was not sufficiently granular to provide for individual bank estimates.

However, to the question: How can designers formulate aesthetic considerations which communicate a clear message to other professionals? an obvious answer is to make use of Baumgarten’s aesthetic considerations. ...

  • An organic farm plan is central to the certification process. The farm plan describes production, handling, and record-keeping systems, and demonstrates to certifiers an understanding of organic practices for a specific crop. The process of developing the plan can be valuable in terms of anticipating potential issues and challenges, and fosters thinking of the farm as a whole system. Soil, nutrient, pest, and weed management are all interrelated on organic farms and must be managed in concert to be successful.

A smaller proportion of cases are identified following clinical presentation with lower urinary tract symptoms or with the symptoms related to advanced prostate cancer.

First, it holds that small loans are costly for banks to administer but that poor households can pay high interest rates.
