Main technical issues to be resolved before greater implementation of aluminum alloys
in ship structures include weld quality since these alloys are more difficult to weld
relative to steel and that shipyards typically have limited experience in these alloys. In
terms of mechanical properties, aluminum alloys generally exhibit lower fatigue
strength when compared to steel. As-welded fatigue properties can be as low as 6 to 7
ksi (Czyryca et al 2006).
Battery chargers are employed for charging starter, traction, and stationary batteries as well as for supplying stand-by power. The demands for these devices are dependent on the operation conditions. Charging starter and traction batteries is mainly conducted during recesses. Hereby the consumers are disconnected for charging batteries (Figure 13.1). Charging for stationary batteries allows an ensured stand-by power supply for parallel and switch operation for DC consumers.

The JICA-assisted “The Study on Urban Transport Master Plan and Feasibility Study in Ho Chi Minh Metropolitan Area” was conducted with the following main objectives: Formulation of a comprehensive Master Plan up to 2010 and 2020 for the urban transport system in the HCM metropolitan area, and a Short-term Action Plan up to 2005; conduct of feasibility studies on selected priority projects; and conduct of technology transfer on database development, modeling, and plan formulation to the Vietnamese counterpart staff during the course of the study.
The purpose of the study was to analyze the current practice of shrimp farming in the north central Vietnam, to evaluate the status of agricultural production and economic conditions - social and environment, and determine the limit application of better management practices. The report presents the results of a survey of 90 shrimp farmers in north-central provinces of Vietnam (Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thua Thien-Hue).

The earlier in the process a student reaches the main idea, the better the structural principle is
challenged. Lessons from the experiment suggest that getting a main idea and utility properties
reconciled is a challenge that encourages students so that they will have a better drive in the process
than students who work from a context adjustment solely. Reflection on the formgiving process was
supported by a theoretical division into form elements. This was also used in discussion of a form’s
weakness and strength with respect to the design specification.
