The Committee believes that a successful implementation of the revised Framework will provide banks and supervisors with critical experience necessary to address such challenges. The Committee understands that the IRB approach represents a point on the continuum between purely regulatory measures of credit risk and an approach that builds more fully on internal credit risk models. In principle, further movements along that continuum are foreseeable, subject to an ability to address adequately concerns about reliability, comparability, validation, and competitive equity.......
This document (EN ISO 5167-1:2003) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 30
"Measurement of fluid flow in closed conduits" in collaboration with CMC.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2003, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by September 2003.
The purpose of this handbook is to provide in one location detailed, up-to-date information on various
facets of mass measurement that will be useful to those involved in mass metrology at the highest level
(at national standards laboratories, for example), in science and engineering, in industry and commerce,
in legal metrology, and in more routine mass measurements or weighings. We have pursued clarity and
hope that we have in some measure succeeded.
Standardized Functional Verification, digital hardware system, verification software, how to verify IP, technical framework
Standardized Functional Verification describes the science of functional verification that applies to any digital hardware system. With a precise and comprehensive terminology this book describes a thorough technical framework for achieving superior results with greater efficiency. It also defines a scientific basis for achieving functional closure and shows how true functional closure can be measured by software.
IAS 2 Inventories was issued by the International Accounting Standards Committee in
December 1993. It replaced IAS 2 Valuation and Presentation of Inventories in the Context of the
Historical Cost System (originally issued in October 1975).
The Standing Interpretations Committee developed SIC-1 Consistency—Different Cost Formulas
for Inventories, which was issued in December 1997
This title presents the general principles of instrumentation processes. It explains the theoretical analysis of physical phenomena used by standard sensors and transducers to transform a physical value into an electrical signal. The pre-processing of these signals through electronic circuits – amplification, signal filtering and analog-to-digital conversion – is then detailed, in order to provide useful basic information.
Attention is then given to general complex systems.
Performance measurement is an important concept for anyone managing
or investing institutional assets. Complying with the Global Investment
Performance Standards (GIPS®) provides individuals and firms with two
things: (1) guidance for the investment firm in achieving compliance with
the Global Investment Performance Standards—the GIPS standards—and
(2) detailed explanations of the rationale and methodology behind the
This is the full version of NICE clinical guideline 117. It contains details of the methods and evidence used to develop the guideline. It updates and replaces the full version of ‘Tuberculosis: clinical diagnosis and management of tuberculosis, and measures for its prevention and control’ that was developed by the National Collaborating Centre for Chronic Conditions and published by the Royal College of Physicians in March 2006. The updated recommendations have been developed by the Centre for Clinical Practice at NICE following the NICE short clinical guideline process....

HUMAN CAPITAL INVESTMENT BY PRIVATE EMPLOYERS IN BLAIR COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AS MEASURED A one standard deviation (0.28) increase in the choice index corresponds
with a reduction in mean scores of only about four points, about one-eighth of an MSA-level
standard deviation. Moreover, in some alternative specifications not reported here, the
coefficient estimate is statistically insignificant, though still negative.

The study presented in this book is a direct response to the needs for defining and
registering criminal and judicial data on the European level. Based upon work
done by the European Sourcebook experts group in creating the European Source-
book of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics (ESB), the project intended to improve
and complement the standards developed so far for definitions and statistical
registration in four fields, in order to contribute to the picture of criminal justice
in Europe. It utilized questionnaires filled by an established European network....
Humankind’s fascination with Mars predates
recorded history. The bright planet with the reddish tint
is unique among the other celestial objects. Tycho
Brahe’s observations of its unpredictable motion were
deciphered by Johannes Kepler in the early 17th century
as he developed his laws of planetary motion.
Galileo trained his telescope on Mars and saw it as a
disk in 1610. Later in the 1600s, Christiaan Huygens
and Gian Cassini drew the first maps of the Martian
This book is motivated to a large extent by our dissatisfaction with current practices
in behavioral measurement. Most of the basic data consists of dichotomous
responses, and much of the rest is made of responses on short scales. Neither type
of data furnishes information that can inherently be considered more than ordinal.
The dominant contemporary treatment of this data is to derive from it scores on
interval-scale latent variables through the application of one or another"model"
that is presumed to explain the data.
In this paper, a method to reproduce realistic
driving feeling and improve the returnability of steer-by-wire
systems (SBW) is proposed by measuring the roadwheel motor's
current directly. The key contribution presented here is a novel
method to recreate the driving feeling in term of force feedback
with simpie and cheap current sensors. A current sensor is used to
fully measure the steering torque on the rack of steering
mechanism. This measured steering torque therefore, includes the
overall effects of road conditions, aligning moments, tire
properties and so on.
This chapter extends our study of management control by explaining how standard costs are used by managers to control costs. It demonstrates how to compute direct materials, direct labor, and variable overhead variances. The chapter also defines some nonfinancial performance measures that are frequently used by companies.
We can measure risk by measuring the spread among an investment’s possible outcomes. There are two measures that can be used: Variance and standard deviation. In this lesson, you will learn how to measuring risk. Inviting you refer.
Let µ be the m−fold convolution of the standard Cantor measure and αm be the lower extreme value of the local dimension of the measure µ. The values of αm for m = 2, 3, 4 were showed in and . In this paper, we show that
Behavioral medicine has now matured as a field to the point where all recognize that different populations are presented with different issues. Psychological reactions and patterns affect the health and well-being of children, as well as adults, and numerous standardized instruments for the assessment of a variety of areas of children's functioning are currently available.
Research tells us that teachers vary enormously in their ability to improve students’ performance on standardized tests but that many existing teacher evaluation and reward systems do not capture that variation. Armed with this knowledge and with improved access to longitudinal data systems linking teachers to students, reform-minded policymakers are increasingly attempting to base a portion of teachers’ evaluations or pay on student achievement gains.
