The surface treatment by physical method of jute fiber using air plasma was investigated. Fiber was treated by the atmospheric plasma with various conditions of power 50W and different treatment times (from 1 min to 7 min). After treatment, the characteristics of fiber changed remarkably and fiber surface observed by SEM analyze showed a better morphology for adhesion. The result showed that tensile strength and Young’s modulus of jute fiber were slightly improved, however there was a remarkable improvement interface adhesion between fibers and polypropylene (PP) resin.
Although bamboo fibers have well mechanical properties but they are brittle caused impossibility to make fabric like jute of flax fibers. Two kinds of bamboo fibers, having industrial application are short fiber and long fiber for making mat. Polypropylene (PP)-short bamboo fiber composites have been carried out research systematically in Polymer Centre of Hanoi University.
Most plastic materials are used because they have desirable mechanical
properties at an economical cost. For this reason, the mechanical properties
may be considered the most important of all the physical and chemical
properties of high polymers for most applications. Thus everyone working
with such materials needs at least an elementary knowledge of their mechanical
behavior and how this behavior can be modified by the numerous
structural factors that can be varied in polymers.
The objective of study was to evaluate some of the physical and mechanical properties of medium density fiberboard (MDF) panels laminated with veneer sheets compressed at different levels of pressure and temperature. Rotary peeled veneer samples of European beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) were compressed at temperatures of 150 C, 180 C, and 200 C using 4 MPa and 6 MPa pressure for 8 min. Commercially produced MDF samples also were laminated with such compressed veneer sheets.

Mechanical properties of film coats
Michael E.Aulton SUMMARY This chapter discusses the need for a film coat to possess the correct mechanical properties. One of the requirements of a film coat is that it should provide adequate protection to the dosage form. The capacity of the film coat to afford physical protection depends to a large extent on its mechanical characteristics. After considering those desirable properties, the chapter explains how to assess such properties. It also explains the need for a standardized approach to film preparation prior to testing.
There is a vast multitude of materials with strongly differing properties. A
copper wire, for instance, can be bent easily into a new shape, whereas a
rubber band will snap back to its initial form after deformation, while the
attempt to bend a glass tube ends with fracture of the tube. The strongly

Fiber composite technology is based on taking advantage of the high strength and
high stiffness of fibers, which are combined with matrix materials of similar/
dissimilar natures in various ways, creating inevitable interfaces. In fiber composites,
both the fiber and the matrix retain their original physical and chemical identities,
yet together they produce a combination of mechanical properties that cannot be
achieved with either of the constituents acting alone, due to the presence of an
interface between these two constituents.
