The West Pearl Queen reservoir project also used
soil gas surveys to detect PFC tracers that were
injected into the reservoir with the CO2. Soil gas
sampling was conducted before and after the CO2
injection by using capillary tubes and adsorbent
packets for the tracers. Brookhaven National
Laboratory (BNL) supplied the tracers and
performed the tracer concentration analysis (Wells
et al., 2007).

in which to invest and then selecting the best securities in each market.
ABSTRACT This paper is a review of recent trends in United States expenditures on research and development (R&D). Real
expenditures by both the government and the private sector increased rapidly between the mid-1970s and the mid-1980s, and have
since leveled off. This is true of both overall expenditures and expenditures on basic research, as well as funding of academic research.
Preliminary estimates indicate that about $170 billion was spent on R&D in the United States in 1995, with ≈60% of that funding
coming from the private sector and about 35% from the federal government.

Digital electronics is one of the fundamental courses found in all electrical
engineering and most science programs. The great variety of LabVIEW
Boolean and numeric controls/indicators, together with the wealth of
programming structures and functions, make LabVIEW an excellent tool to
visualize and demonstrate many of the fundamental concepts of digital
electronics. The inherent modularity of LabVIEW is exploited in the same
way that complex digital integrated circuits are built from circuits of less
complexity, which in turn are built from fundamental gates.
This book addresses the fundamental questions concerning the economic
reinvigoration of society through policies aimed at encouraging the development
of small enterprises. Governments in Europe, the rest of the industrialised
world and developing countries are increasingly including small enterprise
development as a central feature of economic and social policies. Nowhere
was this more evident than during the 1980s in Britain, as the Conservative
government sought to establish an enterprise culture.
In January 1976, the Transportation Energy Conservation (TEC) Division of the Energy
Research and Development Administration contracted with Oak Ridge National Laboratory
(ORNL) to prepare a Transportation Energy Conservation Data Book to be used by TEC staff in
their evaluation of current and proposed conservation strategies. The major purposes of the Data
Book were to draw together, under one cover, transportation data from diverse sources, to
resolve data conflicts and inconsistencies, and to produce a comprehensive document.
This book is about the changes that elected and appointed leaders are making to
the art and practice of governing, governance, and government. It is about how
public managers are shaping and guiding governments’ responses to a fundamental
movement for change that began in the last decades of the twentieth century.

discussion: Drs. Leon Lederman, Richard Tapia,
and Marcia Linn.
Dr. Lederman is an internationally renowned
high-energy physicist, the Director Emeritus of
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in
Batavia, Illinois. He holds an appointment as
the Pritzker Professor of Science at Illinois
Institute of Technology in Chicago.

cytopathologist, cytotechnologist and cytotechnician.
The calculation of indirect and induced (multiplier) impacts is
made on the basis of input-output (I-O) accounting tables. These matrices show
the pattern of purchases and sales between industries in the economy. Base tables
are constructed at a national level, and tables for smaller regions are derived by
regionalizing the core BEA tables to reflect inter-regional purchasing patterns.
