This book has been written for people whose first language is not English, and who need to use
English in the context of banking and finance. It covers language useful for working in retail
banking, company finance departments and other situations involving financial transactions.
There is a strong focus on the language needed to communicate on financial topics, discuss
financial problems and plan projects. It does not cover rarely-used terms, or academic terms used
by economists. All the language in the book is intended to be accessible to intermediate level
students and above....

Title: Some Famous Problems of the Theory of Numbers and in particular Waring’s An Inaugural Lecture delivered before the University of Oxford Author: G. H.
This wide-ranging introduction to the basic techniques in business mathematics and statistics is broken down into ten separate parts, each of which covers standard examination testing areas. Each chapter concludes with a summary, review notes and student exercises which concentrate on the more practical numerical aspects covered in the chapter.
We present cdec, an open source framework for decoding, aligning with, and training a number of statistical machine translation models, including word-based models, phrase-based models, and models based on synchronous context-free grammars. Using a single unified internal representation for translation forests, the decoder strictly separates model-specific translation logic from general rescoring, pruning, and inference algorithms.
The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has long collected
information on the number and characteristics of individuals with
education or employment in science and engineering and related
fields in the United States. One of the three vehicles employed by NSF for
collecting this information is the National Survey of College Graduates
(BQ) Part 2 book "Statistical techniques in business & economics" has contents: Analysis of variance, correlation and linear regression, multiple regression analysis, statistical process control and quality management, an introduction to decision theory, index numbers,...and other contents.
Number puzzles, spatial/visual puzzles, cryptograms, Sudoku, Kokuro, logic puzzles, and word games like Frame Games are all a great way to teach math and problem-solving skills to elementary and middle school students. In these two new collections, puzzle master Terry Stickels provides puzzles and brain games that range from simple to challenging and are organized by grade level and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) content areas. Each book offers over 300 brain games that will help students learn core math concepts and develop critical thinking skills.
This self-study course is organized into subject matter areas, each containing learning
objectives to help you determine what you should learn along with text and illustrations to help you
understand the information. The subject matter reflects day-to-day requirements and experiences of
personnel in the rating or skill area.
Monte Carlo methods are ubiquitous in applications in the finance and
insurance industry. They are often the only accessible tool for financial engineers
and actuaries when it comes to complicated price or risk computations,
in particular for those that are based on many underlyings. However, as they
tend to be slow, it is very important to have a big tool box for speeding them
up or – equivalently – for increasing their accuracy. Further, recent years have
seen a lot of developments in Monte Carlo methods with a high potential for
success in applications.
Over the last two decades there has been a notable increase in the number
of corporate governance codes and principles, as well as a range of
improvements in structures and mechanisms. Despite this, corporate governance
failed to prevent a widespread default of fiduciary duties of
corporate boards and managerial responsibilities in the finance industry,
which contributed to the 2007–2010 global financial crisis.
Basic principles underlying the transactions of financial markets are tied to
probability and statistics. Accordingly it is natural that books devoted to
mathematical finance are dominated by stochastic methods. Only in recent
years, spurred by the enormous economical success of financial derivatives,
a need for sophisticated computational technology has developed. For example,
to price an American put, quantitative analysts have asked for the
numerical solution of a free-boundary partial differential equation.
This book is intended for a rigorous introductory Ph.D. level course in econometrics, or
for use in a field course in econometric theory. It is based on lecture notes that I have developed
during the period 1997-2003 for the first semester econometrics course “Introduction to
Econometrics” in the core of the Ph.D. program in economics at the Pennsylvania State
University. Initially these lecture notes were written as a companion to Gallant’s (1997)
textbook, but have been developed gradually into an alternative textbook.
ECUS_KD is an effective solution for enterprise to do Customs operations.
Enterprise’s users input the declaration sheets data as well as related documents as
normal paper profile and send to the Customs. The Customs system will create “the
receiver number” and feed back to the enterprise. Then enterprise brings the paper
profile and “the receiver number” printed from the program to the Customs Office to do
Combines a cookbook approach with the use of PCs and programmable calculators. Contains statistics suitable for the low number of samples, high-pressure situations commonly found in established analytical methods with algorithms to eliminate statistical table handling, sample programs and data sets th
The main thrust is to provide students with a solid understanding of a number of important and related advanced topics in digital signal processing such as Wiener filters, power spectrum estimation, signal modeling and adaptive filtering. Scores of worked examples illustrate fine points, compare techniques and algorithms and facilitate comprehension of fundamental concepts. Also features an abundance of interesting and challenging problems at the end of every chapter.

Similarly, if you come to a card which is BLACK, put it face-up on your
BLACK pile. Think BLACK and select a random face-down card. Put this
face-down card in a pile in front of your BLACK pile. Go through this
procedure until you run out of face-up cards.
You now have the following: a RED pile and in front of that a pile
containing the same number of face-down cards you selected while
thinking RED. You also have a BLACK pile in front of which is a pile of
random cards you selected while thinking BLACK.
Interestingly your thoughts...
Chaos and the quantum mechanical behaviour of classically chaotic systems have been
attracting increasing attention. Initially, there was perhaps more emphasis on the
theoretical side, but this is now being backed up by experimental work to an increasing
extent. The words 'Quantum Chaos' are often used these days, usually with an
undertone of unease, the reason being that, in contrast to classical chaos, quantum chaos
is ill defined; some authors say it is non-existent. So, why is it that an increasing
number of physicists are devoting their efforts to a subject so fuzzily defined?...
The Dictionary of Nursing Theory and Research provides a compilation
of definitions and discussions of terms that are commonly
encountered in the nursing literature. In this third edition of our
dictionary we have retained and revised most of the terms in the earlier
versions and have added many new ones. The new terms are in response
to evolutionary changes that have occurred over the intervening years.
We have added entries for evidence-based practice and Internet research.
The period from 2006 to 2012 saw a
number of major events, a very significant
one being the global meltdown in the
banking and financial services industry
(BFSI), which had knock-on effects on
almost all business sectors.
Considering that we now live in a connected
world, India faced its own share of
consequences although companies in the
BFSI segment remained relatively unaffected
by the turmoil seen in the Western world.
It seemed as though the tighter regulatory
regime had paid a dividend in an imploding
