  • In contrast to other animals, humans sense their world chiefly by vision, sound, and touch. We have, in general, a remarkably undeveloped sense of smell, and so it is not surprising that we fail to appreciate how important chemical signals are in the lives of other organisms. The remainder of this paper proceeds as follows. Section 2 sets forth an econometric framework for studying investments in mutual funds when business cycle variables may predict future returns. Section 3 describes the data used in the empirical analysis, and Section 4 presents the findings.

National and local governments should start paying more attention to training needs and budgets, be- cause the bilateral and the multilateral agencies cannot keep supporting training at the current rate. National budgets have to start allocating resources for training. There are some management issues. A demand-driven approach may reduce funding for poorer communities, because they are often the ones least able to develop their own projects.

  • It is not easy to give a clear definition of real assets. The equivalent German term Sachwert refers only to the reproduction value (replacement cost) of a good. In an investment concept, a real asset is defined as a good that is independent from variations in the value of money. 1 This definition alone provides sufficient motive for the integration of real assets in portfolios. In times of high inflation, real assets should protect financial resources against loss of purchasing power. It is by no means clear what goods should be included in the real assets group.

Smaller-scale P2P systems also exist, such as federated, serverless file systems [2, 1] and collaborative workgroup tools [7]. The success of these systems has been mixed; some, such as Napster, have enjoyed enormous popularity and perform well at scale.

  • Finally, mobile element based markers are expected to be co-dominant. However, despite the fact that they are extremely useful for population genetics, all mobile element based markers have the same drawback: difficultly of data interpretation and uncertainty about the true nature of the polymorphism. Specifically, the question may arise as to whether differences in banding patterns are due to the absence or presence of retrotransposons, or are caused by some other mechanism, e.g. indels or restriction site loss.
