Queries not running fast enough? Tired of the phone calls from frustrated users? Grant Fritchey’s book SQL Server 2012 Query Performance Tuning is the answer to your SQL Server query performance problems. The book is revised to cover the very latest in performance optimization features and techniques. It is current with SQL Server 2012. It provides the tools you need to approach your queries with performance in mind.
With database concepts and theories clearly explained in Oracle's context, readers quickly learn how to fully leverage Oracle's performance and scalability capabilities at every stage of designing and developing an Oracle-based enterprise application. The book is based on the author's more than ten years of experience working with Oracle, and is filled with dependable, tested, and proven performance optimization techniques.

Oracle Database Performance Tuning Guide is an aid for people responsible for the
operation, maintenance, and performance of Oracle. This book describes detailed
ways to enhance Oracle performance by writing and tuning SQL properly, using
performance tools, and optimizing instance performance. It also explains how to
create an initial database for good performance and includes performance-related
reference information. This book could be useful for database administrators,
application designers, and programmers.

find that they meet your circuit design needs. The MicroSim PSpice Optimizer is a circuit
optimization program that improves the
performance of analog and mixed analog/digital
circuits. With the PSpice Optimizer, you can:Run optimizations, Explore performance tradeoffs, Fit model parameters
[ Team LiB ] Recipe 9.5 Performing a Bulk Insert with SQL Server Problem Given many records in an XML file that you need to add to a SQL Server 2000 database, you need to perform a bulk insert with optimal performance.
This book is a comprehensive guide to the tips, techniques, secrets, standards, and methods of website optimization. From increasing site traffic to maximizing leads, from revving up responsiveness to increasing navigability, from prospect retention to closing more sales, the world of 21st century website optimization is explored, exemplified and explained.
Website Optimization combines the disciplines of online marketing and site performance tuning to attain the competitive advantage necessary on today's Web....
This book introduces a variety of problem statements in classical optimal control, in optimal estimation and filtering, and in optimal control problems with non-scalar-valued performance criteria. Many example problems are solved completely in the body of the text. All chapter-end exercises are sketched in the appendix. The theoretical part of the book is based on the calculus of variations, so the exposition is very transparent and requires little mathematical rigor.
Oracle system performance inefficiencies often go undetected for months or even years--even under intense scrutiny--because traditional Oracle performance analysis methods and tools are fundamentally flawed. They're unreliable and inefficient.
Oracle DBAs and developers are all too familiar with the outlay of time and resources, blown budgets, missed deadlines, and marginally effective performance fiddling that is commonplace with traditional methods of Oracle performance tuning.
After completing this lesson, you should be able to do the following:
List the operations that use temporary space
Create and monitor temporary tablespaces
Identify actions that use the temporary tablespace
Describe the use of disk and memory for sorting
Identify the SQL operations that require sorts
Differentiate between disk and memory sorts
List ways to reduce total sorts and disk sorts
Determine the number of memory sorts performed
Set parameters to optimize sorts
Data-driven systems for natural language processing have the advantage that they can easily be ported to any language or domain for which appropriate training data can be found. However, many data-driven systems require careful tuning in order to achieve optimal performance, which may require specialized knowledge of the system. We present MaltOptimizer, a tool developed to facilitate optimization of parsers developed using MaltParser, a data-driven dependency parser generator.
Knowledge of the anaphoricity of a noun phrase might be profitably exploited by a coreference system to bypass the resolution of non-anaphoric noun phrases. Perhaps surprisingly, recent attempts to incorporate automatically acquired anaphoricity information into coreference systems, however, have led to the degradation in resolution performance. This paper examines several key issues in computing and using anaphoricity information to improve learning-based coreference systems. In particular, we present a new corpus-based approach to anaphoricity determination.
This paper introduces an indexing method based on static analysis of grammar rules and type signatures for typed feature structure grammars (TFSGs). The static analysis tries to predict at compile-time which feature paths will cause unification failure during parsing at run-time. To support the static analysis, we introduce a new classification of the instances of variables used in TFSGs, based on what type of structure sharing they create. The indexing actions that can be performed during parsing are also enumerated. ...

Academic literature has raised questions about the effectiveness of such
arrangements, pointing out that a "regulatory arm" of an exchange can be
financed through the budget of the profit making entity. Unless the budget of the
regulatory arm is both independent and substantial, the number of instances that
it can investigate may arguably be insufficient (Brown, 2008). The importance
of further insulating the regulatory entities which are part of exchange groups
has therefore been repeatedly stressed in public debate.
