One of the more promising processes for the energetic transformation of waste is the anaerobic digestion of the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste. An experimental campaign was carried out on three different samples of OFMSW from Waste Separation, one as received and two obtained after mechanical treatment: OFMSW slurry (liquid fraction) and OFMSW Waste. Anaerobic Biogasification Potential and anaerobic digestion tests were carried out, investigating the effects of inoculum and pH. The OFMSW Waste was also examined to evaluate the possibility to dispose of it in a landfill.

A major challenge in clinical periodontics is to find a reliable molecular marker of
periodontal support loss with high sensitivity, specificity and utility (Buduneli & Kinane
2011). Molecules derived from inflamed host tissue and pathogenic bacteria have the
potential of being used as markers of periodontitis; however, molecular markers of bone
resorption have advantages as they relate to specificity for bone, easy detection, pre-analytic
stability and availability of sensitive and specific assays for detection (Forde et al. 2006).

This report presents a summary and assessment of design margins used in domestic and
international pipeline codes throughout the world. Potential changes to the design factors
contained in the U.S. pipeline regulations and codes have been recommended as a result of this
review. The recommendations allow an increase in the design pressure in many pipelines.
The third and fourth sections of the book include, respectively, studies for which the
analysis is a modification of a traditional fluid mechanical approach and studies for
