  • In this study, the mixtures of ZnO and Ga2O3 powder with addition of LiCl flux were fired, the raw material mixing ratio, doped with Mn 2+ and firing atmosphere effects on phosphor characteristics were investigated. When fired at 1200°C, its phosphor powder emits a broad-band spectrum range between 375 nm to 700 nm, with a peak at 470 nm.

  • The effects of micronization methods, mechanical and jet millings, on the physico-chemical properties of mushroom (Lentinus edodes) powder were investigated in contrast to shear pulverization. The powders of dried mushroom cap and stipe were prepared to obtain six powders. Compared to shear pulverization, mechanical and jet millings effectively reduced particle size and brought about a narrow and uniform particle size distribution.

  • Lithium fluoride (LiF) thermoluminescent powder doped with Mg, Cu, Na, and Si as activators was prepared. X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that doping LiF with different activators makes crystal lattice somewhat expand. The dosimetric properties of the powder were studied.   • Porogen leaching is one of the most common methods used for preparation of scaffolds with controlled porosity. The particulate leaching method is totally based upon the dispersion of porogen (salt, sugar and wax) either in liquid particulates or powdered materials (Hou et al., 2003; Lee et al., 2004, Nazarov et al., 2004 Vepari & Kaplan, 2007) by the process of evaporation, cross linking or other reaction liquid may be solidified. These porogens act as place holder for pore and interconnection of the pores in the actual scaffolds fabrication technique.

  • The ZnO nano-tetrapods have been prepared by the evaporation of metallic Zn powder at the temperature range of 700oC- 950oC in air. The influence of experimental conditions, such as the evaporation temperature and the substrate temperature, on the morphology, the size and the photoluminescence (PL) was investigated. The XRD pattern showed that the nano–tetrapods were ZnO with hexagonal structure. The branch size of the tetrapods was about two hundreds nanometers.

  • The study on the relationship between technological parameters and mechanical properties of the blends has been carried out. According to the obtained results, the suitable conditions to prepare rubber powder for the following blending step were established. The thermoplastic elastomeric blend based on poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) and vulcanized butadiene-acrylonitrile rubber (NBR) containing dioctylphtalate (DOP) processes good mechanical properties.

  • Lithium fluoride (LiF) thermoluminescent powder doped with Mg, Cu, Na, and Si as activators was prepared. The dopant concentrations were varied over the wide ranges as follows: Mg (0.05 - 1.0 mol$\%$), Cu (0.01 - 1.0 mol$\%$), Na,Si (0.3 - 2.4 mol$\%$). The results indicated that the Mg and Cu activators are crucial dopants in the LiF:Mg,Cu,Na,Si phosphors. The LiF:Cu,Na,Si samples without Mg exhibit a peak at low temperature in the thermoluminescent glow curve and in the absence of Cu, the LiF:Mg,Na,Si samples exhibit a peak at high temperature.
