This paper describes an on-going project concerning with an ontological lexical resource based on the abundant conceptual information grounded on Chinese characters. The ultimate goal of this project is set to construct a cognitively sound and computationally effective character-grounded machine-understandable resource. Philosophically, Chinese ideogram has its ontological status, but its applicability to the NLP task has not been expressed explicitly in terms of language resource.
Political economy or economics is a study of mankind in the ordinary business of life; it examines that part of
individual and social action which is most closely connected with the attainment and with the use of the material requisites
Thus it is on the one side a study of wealth; and on the other, and more important side, a part of the study of man. For
man's character has been moulded by his every-day work, and the material resources which he thereby procures, more than
by any other influence unless it be that of his religious ideals; and the two great forming...
.ETHICS AND THE UNIVERSITY
Ethics and the University brings together two closely related topics, the practice of ethics in the university (“academic ethics”) and the teaching of practical or applied ethics in the university.
A preliminary production aid is property used in the process of creating preliminary art and generally includes such
items as scans, layouts, visualizations, artwork, illustrations, proofs, images, etc. Unlike intermediate production aids
and special printing aids, preliminary production aids are not presumed sold to the customer prior to use. As such,
you should pay tax on your purchase of tangible items developed and used to produce your preliminary designs. As
explained in Preliminary art vs.
The picture of the Brazilian pulp and paper sector presented in this section is useful to qualify the
preliminary hypotheses pointed out above based on the general review of the literature on FDI
sustainable development impacts.
The Brazilian pulp and paper sector is presently composed by 220 firms widely located in 16 Brazilian
states. To give an idea about this sector importance for the Brazilian economy, in 2005: this sector
directly employed 108.000 workers; it produced 10.1 millions tons of pulp and 8.6 millions tons of
paper, corresponding to 1.4% of the GDP.
Organic production, however, does not
necessarily guarantee higher wholesale or retail
prices. A 2004 Organic Research Foundation
survey of organic farmers found that only 41%
of the respondents received a price premium
for all of their organic products. Another 86%
reported receiving a price premium on some
portion of their organically grown products.
Price competition with conventional products
and limited local demand (e.g. in rural areas)
are some of the reasons mentioned for failure
to receive price premiums.
This report presents preliminary findings from the 2010 Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (2010 RDHS). Survey findings will be used by policy makers to evaluate the demographic and health status of the Rwandan population in order to formulate appropriate population and health policies and programs in Rwanda. The forthcoming final report and summary report of the RDHS will contain more detailed findings.
Pursuant to the FSF mandate, the questionnaire circulated to member authorities solicited
their individual views on potential unintended consequences of their use of credit ratings in
LRSPs (ie, the appearance of a “seal of approval”). In preparing their responses to this
portion of the questionnaire, member authorities were not expected to conduct any
independent research on the issue, but instead simply to convey their broad impressions and
survey instruments, modeling exercises, guidelines for practitioners and research professionals, and supporting documentation; or deliver preliminary findings. All RAND reports undergo rigorous peer review to ensure that they meet high standards for research quality and objectivity.

With regard to human resources in the health care sector, Hungary had
3.1 active physicians per 1000 population in 2008. The number of physicians
has dropped substantially since 2003, and increased professional mobility may
lead to a further decline in this ratio in the near future. Physicians are unevenly
distributed, both in terms of geography and specialties. A similar trend can be
observed for the allied health care personnel.
Ongoing conflict, displacement, breakdown in social and public services coupled with recurrent
droughts and flooding have significantly affected food security and livelihoods and therefore
nutritional status. However, there is a growing body of evidence that other underlying causes
also contribute significantly to high and persistent undernutrition.
India is home to the largest number of children
in the world, significantly larger than the number
in China.1 The country has 20 per cent of the 0-
4 years’ child population of the world. The
number of live births in the country is estimated
to be 27 million,2 which again constitutes 20
per cent of the total number of live births in the
world. Although the number of births is expected
to gradually go down in the coming years, the
relative load of India in the world in terms of
child population is not going to lessen
significantly for a long time to come.
It is clear that with the current rate of progress
India is likely to miss the MDG 4 (Goal 4) on
child mortality. While the U5MR fell by about
41 per cent between 1990 and 2008, the IMR
declined by 34 per cent during the corresponding
period. This was mainly due to the fact that the
NNMR, which contributes to two thirds of infant
deaths, did not fall appreciably. The early
neonatal mortality (within a week) which
contributes to about 50 per cent of total infant
deaths declined by only 27 per cent during the
Results of the analysis of field survey data and historic literature documents in Vietnam reveal that there is evident of past tsunami attacking Vietnamese coast. However, the evident is still not strong enough to confirm the occurrence of past tsunami events in Vietnam. On the other hand, results of preliminary paleotsunami study also show that there are possibilities of tsunami occurrence at Vietnam coast in the past.
