This Part of BS 5950 gives recommendations for the use of profiled steel sheeting
as “stressed skin” shear diaphragms, including the design and construction of
such diaphragms, their effects on the design of structural frameworks and the

Great companies and organizations project a strong sense of themselves
that everyone can recognize: Disney’s imagination, Nike’s
drive, IBM’s methodical dependability, or Nordstrom’s service.These
companies know who they are, and they behave that way consistently,
day in and day out. Successful, enduring companies have at their core
a personality that we connect with and understand. In fact, all companies
have a personality—because companies are people, too.
With a solid understanding of the company, its objectives and inherent risks,
the auditor must consider the possible impact of the various risks on the
achievement of business objectives and the likelihood of their occurrence. By
considering both the impact of key risks and the likelihood of occurrence, a
risk profile of the organisation can be developed. The risk profile is presented
to management and the audit committee using a colour-coded heat map that
identifies high, moderate and low risk areas.
Development of the case studies was based on literature review and interviews
with persons inside and outside EPA. The number of interviewees per case study varied
roughly from a half dozen to a dozen. There was an effort to ensure balance in the group
of respondents for any particular case study, but because of the relatively small number of
respondents and the non-random nature of the selection process, extreme caution should
be taken in interpreting the numerical response summaries that are reported.
This book brings together indispensable knowledge for building efficient, high-value, Linux-based

Community palliative care clinical nurse specialists (commonly known
as Macmillan nurses) play an important role in specialist palliative care
(Skilbeck et al. 2002). They spend time with patients and their families,
helping them come to terms with an array of complex emotional
and practical problems, facilitating communication, giving information
and advice about treatments and also offering expertise in controlling
pain and other distressing symptoms. These nurses are equipped with
specialist skills to assess the complex palliative care needs of patients
referred to the service.

Repression/Denial. In a meta-analytic review of the literature of psychosocial fac-
tors and the development of breast cancer, McKenna and colleagues (1999) found sig-
nificant effect sizes for an association between breast cancer and the use of a coping
strategy based on denial/repression.
Astudy by Jensen (1983) provides important evidence supporting the idea that repres-
sion involves disregulation of the immune system that, in turn, influences cancer.

philosophy of Global Participatory Action Research (GLOPAR)1993 developed by the World
Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) to track targets set by the Innocenti Declaration of 1990.

Participants stressed the importance of community input and review more often than anything
else. The Cross Cultural Health Care Program’s Voices of the Communities project and
subsequent community profiles employed a process in which profiles where either written by a
community member or a community member and CCHCP staff. Each profile was reviewed by
other community members and any resulting changes were incorporated in the final product.
The process resulted in excellent products. The UW Medical Center employs a similar process
for its Culture Clues.
The second challenge is to ensure that health is prioritized within overall
development and economic policies. This means looking beyond the health
system and addressing the broad determinants of ill-health - low levels of
education, poverty, unequal gender relations, high risk behaviours, and an
unhealthy environment - as well as raising the profile of health within national
poverty reduction and government reform processes.

and objectives. The study found that there is a strong demand, in particular, in
the following areas of leadership development and organization change (see

tion that individuals can use to stand up for their needs and interests, their
rights and values. It helps them to stand up to difficult people and stand out
from others in positive ways. Equally important, assertiveness puts them in a
position to exercise influence over their subordinates, peers, and bosses.
This course will give you the skills you need to be more assertive.
Fine-Needle Aspiration Cytology/ Biopsy (FNAC/FNAB) is now a widely accepted diagnostic
procedure, which has largely replaced open biopsy. This method is applicable to lesions
that are easily palpable, for example swellings in Thyroid, Breast, superficial Lymph node
etc. Imaging techniques, mainly ultra-sonography and computed tomography, offer an
opportunity for guided FNAC of deeper structures.
The practice of diagnostic cytology needs proper training of the laboratory personnel including
cytopathologist, cytotechnologist and cytotechnician.
