Ever-increasing customer demands, volatile market forces, and global competition compel today's
enterprise to deliver greater goods and services to customers at a lower cost. The Oracle E-Business Suite
is an extensive set of business applications developed to assist enterprises in addressing these challenges.
The E-Business application framework is a flexible environment designed to protect, extend, and evolve
We interviewed experts to explain the growth of Luxembourg and Ireland. Tiny Luxembourg grew to
be a European mutual fund hub, fueled by favorable bank secrecy and tax laws as well as its central
location. The growth of Ireland (Dublin in particular) on the other hand, was driven by a tax advantage
given to management companies and a highly educated labor force. In particular, until recently, fund
management companies paid a tax of only 10% on their income (relative to a 32% corporate income tax
in Ireland) and they were allowed extra deductions for rental...
Risk management is an evolving discipline. Several organizations have sought to provide
assistance and thought leadership through the development of risk management frameworks and
guidance. Much, if not most, of this guidance is focused on traditional operating companies and
does not contemplate the externally managed structure of investment companies. As a result,
while the guidance these organizations have provided is sound, it typically does not focus on
the unique issues faced by funds and their boards of directors.
A recent report has found that public attitudes to asylum in the UK have reached new levels
Some politicians have responded to perceived public concern over asylum and
immigration by emphasising restrictive policies.
The media has a key role to play in the formation of public attitudes and observers have
argued that the UK press has encouraged negative attitudes towards asylum seekers.
have been a number of studies, which have noted the way in which particularly the
newspaper media construct asylum seekers as threats or problems.
While the SEBI issued a further circular
in 2010 stating that a consolidation or
merger should not be seen as a change in
the fundamental attributes of the surviving
schemes if some conditions are met, the
absence of an income-tax neutrality and the
STT levy are dampeners which should be
removed. It may be noted that tax laws do
provide for such neutrality to shareholders in
case of merger of companies.

The Mzansi Account is the result of a banking industry initiative to provide a standard bank account,
which is affordable, readily available and suits the specific needs of the previously unbanked com-
munities. This initiative is a requirement of the Financial Sector Charter, which requires banks to
make banking more accessible to the nation and, specifically, to increase banking reach to all com-
When big data is distilled and analyzed in combination with traditional enterprise data,
enterprises can develop a more thorough and insightful understanding of their business, which
can lead to enhanced productivity, a stronger competitive position and greater innovation – all
of which can have a significant impact on the bottom line.
For example, in the delivery of healthcare services, management of chronic or long-term
conditions is expensive.
The relevant sub-funds will therefore only invest up to 10% of their net asset value directly in Russian equity securities (except if they
are listed on the MICEX - RTS Exchange in Russia and any other regulated markets in Russia which would further be recognised as
such by the Luxembourg supervisory authority) while the sub-funds will invest in American, European and Global Depositary Receipts,
respectively ADRs, EDRs or GDRs, where underlying securities are issued by companies domiciled in the Russian Federation and then
trade on a Regulated Market outside Russia, mainly in the USA or...
Flows into bond funds worldwide increased significantly to €169 billion in the first quarter of 2012,
the largest quarterly bond inflow ever recorded, after registering €49 billion of net inflows in the
fourth quarter. Bond funds reported €86 billion of net inflows in the United States, up from €51 billion
in the previous quarter. In Europe net inflows totaled €49 billion during the first quarter, marking a
sharp turnaround compared to the net outflows of €11 billion recorded in the previous quarter.
When you begin your performance, spread the cards showing they
are ‘random’, then ‘notice’ the Joker, take it out and split the deck at
that point. Give one half to each spectator. They do their selecting and
swapping, but when you get the cards back you simply look for the card
that’s out of place in the respective sections. There will be a prime valued
card in the non-primes pile and via versa. Use your performance (and
mathematical) skills to reveal their selected cards.
You could present this as a demonstration of your super-powered sense
Only a few studies consider the increased ventilation rate
associated with active modes. One study showed that
the minute ventilation rate (product of the breathing rate and
the volume of air per breath) of cyclists was on average
twice that of car commuters (an increase from 12 L min-1
24 L min-1
) and two studies [21, 23] suggest 31 L min-1
40-60 L min-1
for cyclists, respectively. No studies could be
found specifically in relation to the exposure of commuters
who run to work, though one would expect these to be
comparable or higher than those of...
Project management software is not for the creative mind that thinks big ideas
but dismisses minutiae. The kind of individual who uses it best is one who
can break big ideas into ordered, finite steps. This is a skill that is not easy to
learn and may be beyond some PR practitioners. For those engaged in
repeated activities, project management software allows one to systematize
procedures and better control costs.
The purpose of your meeting is to resolve conflicts so that they won’t recur. Make your position clear: You
are meeting because you respect the work of the department, you understand the priority of work, and you
want to help. Communicating your desire to work with the manager and not against the goals of his or her
department will enlist much more cooperation.
Example: One project manager was under a great deal of pressure to complete the last phase of a project. He
was already behind schedule, and his boss was applying pressure to finish it up.
Lewis (2002:xi) has argued that although management of projects has been going on
for thousands of years, the practice has been widely recognized as a discipline in its
own right for only about ten years. A very short history indeed! Azzopardi (2009)
confirms this view as discussed presently.
Azzopardi argues that project management has been practised for thousands of
years, dating back to the Egyptian epoch, but it was in the mid 1950s that the
organisations commenced formal project management tools.
Another closely-related dynamic is a fundamental shift that is taking place in terms of priority
geographic markets. A 2011 global CEO survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC’s Growth
Reimagined) found that the large majority of corporate executives have shifted their primary focus
to developing markets. Although doing business in these markets is nothing new, making them the
primary target market, where firms plan to invest the majority of their efforts and expect the majority
of their future sales, is new and significant.
The seat or seal rings provide the seating surface for the disk. In some designs, the body
is machined to serve as the seating surface and seal rings are not used. In other designs,
forged seal rings are threaded or welded to the body to provide the seating surface. To
improve the wear-resistance of the seal rings, the surface is often hard-faced by welding
and then machining the contact surface of the seal ring. A fine surface finish of the
seating area is necessary for good sealing when the valve is closed.
Using these assessment factors, a business may decide that it can allow devices like Segways
in its facilities, but cannot allow the use of golf cars in the same facility. It is likely that many
businesses will allow the use of Segways® generally, although some may decide to exclude
them during their busiest hours or on particular shopping days when pedestrian traffic is
particularly dense. Businesses are encouraged to develop written policies specifying when
other power-driven mobility devices will be permitted on their premises and to communicate
those policies to the public.
